Kerry: what went wrong?
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=104&topic_id=785106

Not gloating, since I've been a Gephardt supporter recently switched to Kerry.

But really the incredible comeback is seriously being ignored. It should be THE story, but the whores just seem sullen about it. I think the press does NOT like Kerry, even worse than the way they didn't like Gore.

Well, one gloat, see post #84 in the thread above for some quality political analysis. :-)

1. Edwards & Dean are the story
That's just true. Besides, Kerry really, really doesn't like to run from the front. If you want a candidate that's going to run on ego and highs, that ain't Kerry. This is a working campaign, a fighting campaign. Make sense?

4. his campaign shakeup
a bold decision that turned out to be right.

His decision to run in Iowa. Notice in that thread everyone is talking about NH. Iowa was not even on the radar screen, people were talking about "stop Dean" in Iowa.

His handling of the whores' saying he "never explained" the Iraq vote. He just kept explaining it, believing, correctly, that people were smarter than the whores give us credit for.

Edwards is another big story, I'll give you that. He's been nowhere for a long time. Big surprise in Iowa.

12. Yep. Proof Kerry is a brilliant and motivating leader
Damn. He stuck by his guns, and I and many others have stuck with him.

10. Strange, idn't it, this lack of coverage
since we are hearing so much in other forums how "Kerry is the choice of the corporate media" etc. There goes that theory, I guess!

He is running a hell of a campaign - He thrilled people in Iowa, and looks like he's doing the same in NH.

2. I've seen some great press about Kerry
Funny to read your comments, when so many people were saying *exactly* the same thing about Dean's press 1 month ago.

Welcome to frontrunner status.

5. not nearly enough
especially the national media, the credit they're giving him is very grudging. Like the Peter Jennings interview, or comments by the pundits.

6. Maybe because many of his supporters seem more interested in Dean's
speech than Kerry's win.

Funny, how these things work...the more people talk about something, the more people seem to hear about it...

7. Boring speechs/delivery in Senate - and in 03 - has now changed but
press expect him to return to the 20 minute answer with many if's and but's.

11. I like long answers
and ifs and buts are important in complicated issues. I disagree when his long-windedness is portrayed as a bad thing, except when he's taking up other people's time at debates. That bugs me about Kerry.

8. Not yet satiated on Dean's 3rd place finish
as a nation we love upsets.

But the public seems to have noticed Kerry's success as shown in surge in NH polls and in sending financial support.

9. Since they can't call Kerry a 'loser' anymore,
they are searching for the new meme to use against him.
