Poll question: Who would Edward R. Murrow most like to give a black eye to?
Edited on Wed Mar-02-05 10:31 PM by zulchzulu
Who would Edward R. Murrow most want to give a good punch in the mouth to? He must be rolling in his grave these days. Who would he most want to give a hot can of whoop-ass to?

2. I think Murrow would most want to bean Bob Woodward because
Edited on Wed Mar-02-05 10:32 PM by Clark2008
Murrow would know Woodward knows better.
The rest of these blivets are just butter - only ONE has any J-school training (Blitzer). Isn't that amazing? Not really.
But, I still voted for "all of the above."

7. Yep, Brokaw was not one to trust when news was important
Unless you wanted to count how many times he says "tonight"...ahy...those days are gone.

5. edge to hannity, he's a more blatant liar and more dangerous ro freedom
but the guy most likely to take a swing at murrow would be orielly. murrow would get under his skin pointing out peabody bill's deficiencies as a journalist.

8. I'd love to see Murrow sit in front of O'Liely as he did McCarthy
Doesn't the spinmeister O'Liely look like McCarthy reincarnated? Or at least the love child of McCarthy and Dan Akroyd's character in "nothing but trouble" because he, like Dan's character he has a dick for a nose and one hell of a waddle.

10. O'Liely is the 21st Century joe McCarthy...except maybe Hannity or Rush...
Actually, so many McCarthy impersonators these days are on the tube bathing hateful lies to the brains of clueless drones who have no idea who Joe McCarthy was.

11. Murrow might go after CBS
Just on the grounds that that's where he worked and he might be more shocked by what's happened to their reporting than with anyone else. Especially when you consider CBS still throws his name out whenever they're patting themselves on the back.

13. I don't think Murrow would waste his time ...
with any of them because all of the abovementioned are pundits or flacks; they're not journalists.

No one person can be blamed for the implosion of our so-called news media; it's a systemic thing, in my opinion.

If any single person deserves a whomping, it's Rupert Murdoch.

14. Yep, Rupert would have been made to walk the plank
Perhaps instead of the Edward R, Murrow Award for excellent journalism, there should be a Rupert Murdoch Award for the best spewer of the corporate media. Make it like an Emmies with clips to review and then the winner is announced...
