Poll question: Political strategy: where do you draw the line?
Which of the following best describes your view of the left's most vital political task:

  1. We need to draw a distinction between true leftists and not so true leftists. This will enable us to clarify our message, establish our credibility, focus our energies, and position ourselves to successfully promote our agenda.

  2. We need to draw a distinction between genuine rightwingers and the majority of the electorate. This will enable us to more freely define for ourselves what we stand for, establish our credibility, focus our energies, and position ourselves to successfully promote our agenda.
