Next time some wingnut throws his 'Bush country' map
Edited on Mon Feb-28-05 01:35 PM by fishface
in your face and claims it shows how 'most' of America supports the village idiot.. show em this one.
It's based on voting totals for the candidates.
(the color on the top of the state indicates the winner of that state)

2. Is this map real?
If so this shows that my town went blue which is nice. :)

3. Keep in mind it's a state map.

It's not based on location in the state that went to a candidate.
It just fills in the winner on top based on the vote total for the candidate.Like in Texas..less than half voted for Kerry so it's filled in on the bottom (since he lost) and is under 50% blue.

6. The map says...
for example, if a state went 66% blue, then 2/3 of the state will be colored in blue and 1/3 will be colored in red.

4. That's one ugly map.
There are nicer maps (links posted before on DU) that make the same point.

5. Also,
there is a "purple" map that mixes the red and the blue to form different shades of purple. The darker bluish purple shows that that county went blue and the redish purple shows that that county in that state went red. It's an interesting one too.

8. Do I read it correctly that ID and WY are the only states
that are 100% red?

9. Wyoming and Idaho
are not 100% red. No state is 100% red.

I like this map. It shows the division of the country in a very clear manner.

11. Oh, OK, I see
Their red sections are very close to the state maps...

10. INCORRECT.. map uses the fake numbers.. Kerry won election..
Edited on Mon Feb-28-05 02:29 PM by Griffy
the outrage is that bush was inaugurated!! Dont fall into that.. politely correct people you know when they say that bush won.. even the national vote, help them understand the scope of the election fraud that occured! Unfortunately, since much of the fake numbers come from paperless evoting machines no one has the real numbers...

however.. this map is better.. try this 1 too...
