Will the media feature Hitchens as he exposes the flawed election in Ohio?
Edited on Mon Feb-28-05 11:48 AM by blm
No.

When he criticized Clinton with DUBIOUS claims, he was a regular feature for months on ALL the network news shows.

When he supported Bush's war in Iraq he was a regular feature on ALL the network news shows.

Now, when he points out the litany of flaws and the manipulated totals in the Ohio election that all mysteriously favored Bush, the GOP controlled broadcast media will keep him at arms-length. He'll be relegated to the skimpiest answers on subjects less damaging to BushInc, IF he is allowed to speak out at all.

Half of the bias against the Democrats committed by the broadcast media is accomplished in their booking of guests.

1. We are all saying the same things over and over.
The media is merely a propaganda arm of the Bush administration. Nothing will change that.

2. If we don't EXPOSE it, then nothing will change.
That is why we must NEVER stop pointing it out UNTIL it is exposed as widely as possible.

10. I wasn't disagreeing with you. We can at least try to get the
word out to the public. The media certainly isn't giving us any reliable news.

5. Actually, I enjoy listening to him......
I disagree with much of what he says, but he is not just some hack spouting talking points. I mean, yes he defends the Iraq war, but he knows, and says, Bush is stupid and delusional. He bashed Clinton for many things, but he's no fundie moralist. He believes Mother Teresa was evil scum. Really a fascinating person in many respects.

7. Funny thing is that everyone in MSM knows that
it's nearly impossible to SHUT HIM UP! I've noticed many times that he just won't stop talking, even when he's cut off by the host.

9. You have to buy March issue of Vanity Fair as M$M looks the other way.
Only other place Hitchen's article has been mentioned is dailykos and linked by mydd.

The M$M remains silent as a stone.

11. If he weren't a drunken idiot who gets his rocks off bashing Muslims
I might have some sympathy for him. But ever since 9/11, he's gone out of his way to bash "Islamo-Fascists" at every turn-- usually without substantiation. He makes the same mistake that other bigots make by lumping all devout Muslims in with terrorists. That, IMHO, makes him no better than a Klansman or Christian Fundimentalist.

Don't get me wrong, I do appreciate some of the work he's done-- "The Trial of Henry Kissinger" was an excellent book and movie-- but he has ZERO credibility on the left these days, especially after he left The Nation when they called him on his Muslim-bashing.

Hitch is on minute 30 of his 15 minutes of fame. With friends like him, who needs enemies.

I had the chance to spend quality time with someone who came to me well recommended, who did not believe that fraud had yet actually been demonstrated, whose background was in the manufacture of the machines, and who wanted to be anonymous. It certainly could be done, she said, and only a very, very few people would have to be “in on it.” This is because of the small number of firms engaged in the manufacturing and the even smaller number of people, subject as they are to the hiring practices of these firms, who understand the technology. “Machines were put in place with no sampling to make sure they were ‘in control’ and no comparison studies,” she explained. “The code of the machines is not public knowledge, and none of these machines has since been impounded.” In these circumstances, she continued,it’s possible to manipulate both the count and the proportions of votes.

Yet, the media remains silent as a stone.
