Iraq Suicide Bomber Kills at Least 110

By ALI AL-FATLAWI, Associated Press Writer

HILLAH, Iraq - A suicide car bomber blasted a crowd of police and national guard recruits Monday as they gathered for physicals outside a medical clinic south of Baghdad, leaving at least 110 people dead and 133 injured — the single deadliest attack in the two-year insurgency.

As soon as I can think of a smart ass response too, I'll be sure to post it.

9. You think there is no compassion here. Obviously, you do not . . ..
pay attention. It's more than compassion . . . it's outrage!!!! Outrage because these people are being murdered along with our troops because of an arrogant, ignorant, stupid, so-called "Christian." Our anger is our compassion. Anyone that supports Bush must be out of their mind . . . just like he is, and obviously have some major cognitive disabilities.

I truly do not know how in the World Bush can sleep so good at night? I don't know how ANY of them can sleep, because I sure don't, and I had absolutely no decision in this mess whatsoever.

Bush pays the media to support his policies. A male prostitute is allowed into the White House Press Corp. using an alias and no background check. And yet our media talks about Social Security and Taxes. They have no plans to do anything to either. They are just keeping the public occupied while they make plans to go into Iran in June.

Sorry this wasn't smart ass (as you say); however, it is the truth.

10. I was going to respond to that post,...

,...but, I've just been too emotionally raw the last four days with my brother being notified of his activation. I am glad you responded, frankly_fedup2.

There are so many people here who acknowledge the tragedy associated with this war on almost a daily basis. There are so many people here who are directly or indirectly impacted having previously served or currently serving or having friends and/or relatives serving.

We all have our own way of coping with so much tragedy, including sarcasm and humor in addition to outrage and tears.

14. I cannot imagine having a family member being taken away . . .
because he/she promised to serve this Country. I can understand (to an extent) how you must feel. Is your brother behind Bush on this war, or is he against the reasons.

The Republicans say we don't support our troops when we speak out against the war and/or Bush and his lies.

To this I always say that I support our troops in their courage and honor to stand by their word to go into harms way, no matter what; however, I do not support a man, who claims to be p(r)esident, and who sends them into harms way with lies and propaganda, and then expects those young men and women as well as the citizens of this country to worship him at his alter of greed, oil, and blood.

Thank your brother for his courage and honor and let him know we may not be there with him physically; however, we all support HIM and his fellow soldiers and cannot wait for his and the rest of the troops safe return home.

13. In case you weren't around here a couple of years back....

80 to 90% of the posters here were adamantly against the invasion of IraqNam.

Since that time, the ululations from this administration have become so outrageous and disconnected from reality, that many here have become sarcastic about the disaster that is IraqNam under Herr Bush, as an alternative to being permanently depressed.

How 'bout you?

Just askin'....

15. War? What war, everything is going great for "Freedom." Don't . . .
you know the most important thing is to bankrupt Social Security. Get the people worried about their future and they forget who is dying and how many.

Why even yesterday, ole Rushbow stated that after his successful trip to Afghanistan (very dangerous per he, he mentioned he never left Kabul, where we all know the reports are that is the only place in the Country where it is safe). He states he was talking to some general or someone high up over there kissing Bush's ass. Anyway, this "person" stated to him, "You know why the Russians lost their battle against the Afghanis?" "Why no, no, do tell." Well this genius stated, "When the Russian people and Government started worrying about Russian casualties. When they started getting squeamish and worrying about the body count of Russians coming home, that is when the Afghans started to win the war."

I thought, it couldn't be because we were outfitting the Afghanis with some weapons. Then OxyContin Limbaugh brought up the fact that the Americans gave the Afghanis some type of missile launcher and that helped them too. He just couldn't say the truth but had to add a bunch of bunk before the truth.

4. Didn't you know the OSCARS were on last night?
I saw this posted in LBN a few minutes before Good Morning America started, so against my better judgement I turned it on. Charlie and Diane kicked things off by gushing about the Oscars for 10 minutes and this attack only got a brief mention when they went to Robin for news headlines. Shameful.

8. Do these idiots not realize they are allowing these so-called terrorists .
to kill their future? The Iraqi peoples' future?

They keep killing young Iraqis who are always going into the military or police (unfortunately). Of course, isn't that the only jobs they can get since American companies have all the contract work?

Plus, w2here is all the oil going? Who is getting the money?

How come they can have almost 99% peace on "(s)election day," but after all that was over with, it was like they were given the okay to come on back. Did they use more security? What was the secret for that day. I know no one was allowed to drive. Now THAT'S an idea. How about letting people drive up to a certain area, then walk the rest of the way. They should park their cars in one place. Be checked about a mile up the road (make THEM take off their shirts or whatever. Modesty is one thing, but life and death is more important). Then have them checked again up the road. Do the same as they are leaving.

Supposedly there are 150 thousand Iraqi troops and police now. Of course, police, military, body guards can all be bought off so the terrorists could get to anyone if they wanted. (Like that young man in his car when his bodyguards were paid off and his 3-year-old baby boy). I could not believe that they killed that baby because he happened to be with his daddy.

The Iraqi people should see by now that these terrorists will kill Iraqis as well as the Americans. That should be enough incentive to join together and get these people out of their country and let our troops come home.

They are still targeting our young men and women (because they hate our "freedom") WHAT-ever?

If the Iraqi people do not start protecting their own people, then our soldiers are never going to get to come home. Bush sent them there with lies, but Saddam is gone, there are no WMD's, both of Saddam's sons are dead.
