1. You go, Howard!
Everyone is making fun of this speech, but I saw it as a way to keep up the faith. I read in the NY Times this morning that Dr. Dean is going to concentrate on quieting things down and talking about issues. I hope he does, because it is his ideas for the country and his experience dealing with a legislature that attracted me to him in the first place. If he does this, he can win.

Don't despair, Dean supporters. Only a few short weeks ago, everyone was saying Kerry was dead. We can bounce back. Personally, I'm looking forward to tonight's debate. What network will it be on, and what time?

3. That's Dean's Problem...
His whole artifice and how uncomfortable he is in his own skin...

First he's a secular candidate and then he can't wait to talk about his "faith"...

First he respects the privacy of his wife and then he drags her to Iowa in the waning days of his campaign...

First, he's the Red Bull fueled candidate now he's the subdued, valium addled candidate...

I'm not a huge John Forbes Kerry fan but at least he's consistent....

Message to Dr. Dean.....

Be true to thine ownself....

And by the way....

Happy trails pardner....

4. I Have To Answer My Own Post...
I despise the simian in the White House but at least he's consistent with his faux cowboy shtick...

I can see how the masses buy it....

16. Maybe this is the wrong thread for this
but, one thing that really scares me is this: Listening to GW speak, I can almost believe him. If I were just a little less informed, I could buy into his crap. And, you know what? There are TONS of people who are just a little less informed. I think part of the strategy of the Democratic party as a whole should be to INFORM. The question is how to get people to listen.

11. There's a Dean strength hiding on the other side of that analysis.
It shows that he's flexible and that he's a politician. Clinton was like that too. I'm not saying that Dean has all of Clinton's political gifts - it's too early to tell - but anyhow, imperfect consistency has never been a fatal flaw with the American electorate. Look at every president since Carter to see what I mean. And as far as Bush-the-unelected is concerned, he's been plenty protean - note for example how the "compassionate conservative" side of him comes and goes.

14. I'll say it again-
I DO NOT GET the big fuss about this! I finally sat down and watched a video of it online, and I- ME MRS. Anti-Dean herself!- Thought it kicked ass! I may not agree with his positions but damn, I know if I'd been in that audience, I'd have been seriously pumped by that speech.

Give'em hell guys!

Screamin' Dean and his posse of determined Dems!

15. YEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!
I was there, and the house was ROCKIN'!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think the news filtered out the crowd to hear him, because it was HARD to hear him. He could probably barely hear himself on the monitors, and so he yelled as loudly as he could so his supporters could hear him.

It was an awesome, energy-filled tribute to the hard work we had done, and I loved every minute of it!!!!
