Kucinich's letters from Iowa.
http://www.kucinich.us/IA_caucus_letter.php

Interesting reading here.

"I have spoken to and emailed people throughout Johnson county and Iowa. Had it been a straight vote then Kucinich could easily have been in the ten to fifteen percent range. Many of the people who originally caucused for Kucinich are now delegates for Edwards so there is much more representation for Kucinich than meets the eye.

I became an alternate delegate for Edwards so I could be elected to the platform committee for the county convention. We will start work this week consolidating the platform resolutions sent from the various precincts.

I submitted every platform that Dennis emailed to us prior to the caucus. All of the proposals passed in our precinct which means that I can shepherd all of them to the next level of development of the Iowa Democratic Party Platform.

Regardless of the outcome of the caucus and coming primaries, the Kucinich platform planks will live on in Iowa."

THIS is a cool message even without delegates!

1. It sure is.
I enjoyed reading the letters from other supporters, as well.

Very upbeat and positive!

2. I'm telling you Kucinich is a LONG
way from finished in this race. New Hampshire is gonna be an eye opener for a plenty of people.

Slow and steady.

It was so wierd, I had posted something to the volunteer board about how the Kucinich campaign reminds me of the old Toroise and the Hare fairy tale, Kucinich campaign being the Tortoise and Dean campaign the Hare in my mind. Two days later, Dennis says that "slow and steady" line in an interview! LOL

He does that to me a lot, I'll think or say something and within a day or two he turns around and says something nearly identical. There's something very cool about being that much in sync with your candidate.

5. I am excited
New Hampshire has a tendency to reflect more poll result name recognition I think. That could be a problem. What does Dean have like 5 major NATIONAL publication covers is the last year? Dennis has 0.

Of course the media is still trying to force our choices on us, but hopefully Dennis will have a great showing!

7. Get thee to the website and write some letters-
or make some calls!!

I'm trying to round up a group of volunteers to do one or the other or both, but it's going to be tough here because we have petitions to get completed.

9. I already delivered
50 letters to NH.

I signed up to make phone calls, but haven't received my list yet. I'll be calling all weekend!

3. thank you!
this is what I've been trying to say about the delegate swapping on monday! It wasn't a total wash for Dennis.

The rules didn't work in our favor, fine. But now we at least have FAR more progressive delegates shaping our party platform and moving on up the process.

but dean was anti war....but dean was anti war...but dean was anti war...that's all I've been hearing...:nopity: There was another point to it all.

6. Oh Jeez, you should have seen the
ticked off Dean supporters at the vlunteer board "Well why didn't he deal with Dean???" *sniff, sob*

Well gee, uhhhh, maybe because Dean's been an outright ASS to him?? Dennis said it himself "The tiebreaker was which one of these people is my friend- John Edwards is my friend." Friends, both low in the polling numbers and attracting different constituencies- gee there's an innovative thought, try to draw support you wouldn't otherwise get!:eyes:

Parts of this race will be strategy based and parts of it will be publicity based. Iowa was strategy, pure unadulterated strategy, and Dennis was freakin' BRILLIANT about it!

8. that's what its all about
"But now we at least have FAR more progressive delegates shaping our party platform and moving on up the process."

This is why Dennis' continued candidacy is so important. And he will not let us down. He's going all the way to Boston!

4. I think this will be important to talk up during our own
canvassing season.

No matter how many delegates Dennis gets out of Minnesota, it will be great to have progressives at the precinct caucuses proposing and passing resolutions.

The DFL has been accused of becoming stodgy and establishment, and this kind of activism could be what it needs to wake up.
