The so-called Wead Tapes are smokescreen (and a Gannon 'toon)
"Secret tapes" of Bush!! Ooh, ooh! Scandalous! Ooh, ooh, pay no attention to the gay prostitute in the White House with the mystery credentials. Nope, we have SECRET TAPES of Bush!

Funny thing is, the only segments of these tapes I've heard on the MSM have been complimentary at best, or just slightly, teeny tiny bit "embarrassing," but nothing more. No shockers. They're making the tape story one of TRUST from a former Bush confidant, but the MSM doesn't seem to think the trust of a gay prostitute invited into the WH press room with the CIC is an issue. I wonder why?

Maybe the answer lies beneath the desk, in my new 'toon, "News Service." Enjoy.

Remember, we don't have to celebrate ALL the presidents today!

1. Wead was an advisor...
... to Bush I in the White House, and has written campaign biographies for both Reagan and Bush I.

If he were asked to do a favor by the Bushes, I have no doubt he'd say, "sure, whatever you want."

2. Make no mistake, Wead is a consummate professional.

This guy is one of the most sought after public speakers in the Amway/Quixtar business in the world. He is a BRILLIANT orator - when I got out of the Amway business many years ago I deliberately hung on to the Doug Wead tapes. He was one of the most articulate and eloquent speakers I've ever heard anywhere.

He knows how Washington works like the back of his hand. In fact, I've heard him speak about how precisely the spin machine in DC works, and how particular the president's minders are not to let their guy get caught out.

THE IMPRESSION THAT THE WHITE HOUSE IS PISSED OFF WITH DOUG WEAD IS A BALD FACED LIE. HE WOULD

NEVER

DO ANYTHING TO UPSET BUSH AND THE REPUBLICANS. HE IS TIED TO THE GOSPEL.COM CROWD AND THE RNC BY THE TESTICLES.

6. implications?
are you implying that Wead is being set-up or volunteered to be set-up for a "wead-whacking"?

there was nothing more than a ripple when Armstrong and the other Pundit-payolas came to light -- bush just mumbled something about paying for propaganda with goverment funds was a bad thing

Gannon-Guckert got a bit more daily-spews air-time

between the fake commercials/fake journalists/fake news -- there's not much confidence as to the reliability of "real" news these days

could the coming "Wead-whacking" be a part of further destroying public confidence in the news media? it's starting to look like the media is participating in self-consuming canibalism

Faux news is over-balanced to the right, CNN bends over for the bushies, CBS was blown apart by the Rather-AWOL story, NBC and ABC perform lip service -- forget the big newspapers -- they seem to get it all wrong all the time....

10. Agreed...this smells to "high" heavan....
...the tapes actually make Bush seem more like a moderate regular guy. I wouldn't be surprised if they're completely bogus.

3. I agree 100%.
These tapes have been released as a diversion from the Gannon story. If the Corporate Media Cartel is running with it, then they've been given their orders.

4. what a real government does vs a con artist government
Edited on Mon Feb-21-05 07:43 AM by NJCher
This guy is one of the most sought after public speakers in the Amway/Quixtar business in the world.

France threw his sorry a#%$ out because Amway is a pyramid scheme. That's how a real government operates.

Over here, however, these pyramid scheme types are "spiritual advisers" to the president.

9. Yeah, they're bullshit
Wead said his publisher insisted on listening to the tapes to confirm anonymous sources cited in the book. The New York Times then got wind of the tapes, and from there, it "all became unraveled," Wead said.

OH NOES, NY Times found out! They caught me in their hypno-liberal svengali field and I was powerless to resist.

11. Wead is just another Gannon - sans websites. More media management.
Creating reality - never forget this one:

''We're an empire now, and when we act, we create our own reality. And
while you're studying that reality -- judiciously, as you will -- we'll
act again, creating other new realities, which you can study too, and
that's how things will sort out. We're history's actors . . . and you,
all of you, will be left to just study what we do.''
Bush aide to Ron Suskind

Funny, NYT published Suskind's article, then promptly forgot.

13. if so, perhaps this is a warning from the Xtian Reconstrxn crowd
that --Yo, Brother George, it looks like you are slipping into some too liberal behaviors. We don't like the Gannon slip up. We know you have your little secrets, so If you don't do something about gay marriage etc, we can release the rest of the tapes.
