Miller to give Swift Boat Liars Courage Under Fire Award at Reagan dinner
SO wrong, on SO MANY LEVELS.

I wonder how Nancy and Ron Jr. feel about the "American Conservative Union" using this year's "annual Ronald Reagan banquet" as a forum for "paying tribute" to these bastards for "helping to stop Sen. John Kerry's presidential bid?"

:grr:

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,147728,00.html

WASHINGTON — Euphoric after a big election victory, the organizers of this year's Conservative Political Action Conference say it's only fitting to pay tribute to the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth (search) for helping to stop Sen. John Kerry's presidential bid.

"These guys could have just gone on with their lives but they felt strongly that John Kerry's record was being misrepresented," said Richard Lessner, executive director of the American Conservative Union (search), chief sponsor of CPAC, which is giving the veterans the "Courage Under Fire" award during the annual Ronald Reagan banquet in Washington, D.C., on Friday. "We thought this sort of example of citizens stepping forward under adverse conditions should be recognized," Lessner added. "They are impressive."

Former Georgia Sen. Zell Miller (search), the Democrat credited with giving one of the most memorable speeches in favor of President Bush at the Republican National Convention this summer, will present the award to Adm. Roy Hoffman (search) (Ret.), founder and chairman of the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth.

The Swift Boat Veterans for Truth, or "Swifties" as they are affectionately called in the CPAC press release and by their fans, raised more than $27 million near the end of the presidential campaign and ran television ads denouncing Kerry as dishonest about his service in the Vietnam War and for his testimony before Congress against the war when he returned in 1971.

9. I'd love it if Kerry came marching in
and booted the bastards upside the head.

He's too much the gentleman, of course. But I can dream.

10. Think how you feel if you're in Iraq fighting and you're a Democrat.
Says a lot about how this Party honors the soldiers, no?

I hope George, Dick, Newt, Rush, Sean, Dennis, Bill, and Tom can regale the audience with their own wartime experiences. It shouldn't take too long.

12. I actually thought this was done and gone already
I don't know why I thought they'd already done this stupid ass ceremony, except that I thought it was sort of part of the inaugaration "festivities."

I didn't puke, but I did burst into tears at this article. This is the kind of thing that just makes me dispair. It's just so delusional and disgusting. It's like they're masturbating over their own lies (sorry about the image, but that's just the only appropriate word I can come up with).

I pray they get theirs. Surely such ugliness can't go unpunished at SOME point. Surely we will wake up from this nightmare eventually.

Having heard how bad Wilson was during WWI, I tend to think we'll come back from this. Or like the Germans post WWII, we'll learn to live with past attrocities and perhaps some day we will be able to forgive ourselves.

I know these extremists have probably always been around. I just never pictured them in power with no accountability.

17. Do you know the venue for this little shindig?
I think last year they infested Northern Virginia. This time it's DC -- a city which, believe you me, has little love for the Bush crowd and its ilk.

Maybe we could SHARE with these vile creatures just how we feel about their "truth." Demonstrations, signs, stickers, anybody?

In other words, that insanely expensive monstrosity right in downtown. Yeah, I think we need a little protest.

Yell it Zell. Scream it you strutting little rooster. Then try to live with that lie with 58,000 souls haunting you.

21. Swift Boat Liars Had Less Impact Then They Think, IMO.
I'm not going to argue about this either.

I just really believe that Kerry won and got screwed due to election fraud.

Swift Boat Liars made a lot of noise which simply got a lot of people already disposed to vote for Jr. agitated.

22. I'm certainly not a fan of Ronald Reagan ...
but these dishonorable people are disgracing his name.

Is this what it was like in 1930's Germany? It seems like the country is going insane when events like this can take place. There is no regard for the truth. There is no respect. There is just insanity as the nation lurches toward fascism.

We have to fight these people like our lives depend on it.
