What if it had been Helen Thomas or CBS's John Roberts who were exposed?

What if Helen Thomas had been living a double life and had porn pictures of herself posted on the internet? What if Free Republic uncovered that CBS's John Roberts was available for stud service, in addition to filling in for Dan Rather when he is on assignment?

I think I would be shocked and horrified. I don't think I'd be rushing to their defence about their right to privacy and free speech and saying it was nobody's business. Which is what Guckert supporters are doing. IMHO, once you post pictures of yourself with a hard on and solicit clients online for sex, you kinda aren't a private person.

I don't care what sexual persuasion Guckert was -- the fact that he was a prostitute is shocking. The fact that he posted pornographic pictures of himself on the internet with the goal of advertising to "clients" is sickening.

And it's not like this stuff happened in his "reckless youth" -- the web site Americablog cites was active until May 2003! And now "Gannon" says all of this stuff is irrelevant because he has been saved by Jesus Christ. Apparently, pretty recently....

It doesn't get any more sleazy than this. GOPUSA **HIRED** this guy to be a reporter! And he was a SALARIED reporter on their staff. Hell, if I found out someone working for me was a prostitute, I'd be FURIOUS. So why aren't the dogs barking?

And somehow a scuzzy PROSTITUTE got into the WH pressroom time and time and time again! He even managed to direct a question at the POTUS.
It's crazy. Maybe it's just ultra hard core authoritarian hypocrisy, that this guy's brain was so compartmentalized that he never feared that his vocation as a ho for hire would be revealed, after he had set himself up as such a conspicuous presence among the WH press corps. Bizarre. Craziest yet, "Gannon" goaded opponents to "bring it on" -- knowing that all this porn stuff he had done was out there and could be uncovered. Did he think he was protected? Was he praying it would not be revealed, and that he could leave it all behind after he had become a Big Man in "journalism"?

To those who say this is not a big story -- gee, what if it was Helen Thomas or John Roberts? Yeah, it would be a big story. It IS a big story.

It remains to be shown if anyone knew "Jeff"'s two careers simultaneously.
You have to ask, if the WH and GOPUSA and their freeper supporters are so darned innocent, WHERE IS THEIR OUTRAGE?? Why aren't the dogs barking? If I was Bush, or Scotty, and I was truly caught offguard by this, I'd be freaking out and screaming for someone's head to roll for embarassing me with a HO in my midst!! So you have to wonder, why are they soft-pedalling it? Why isn't Wolf Blitzer freaking? i think it's pretty obvious. Their cover as propagandists has been blown BIG TIME -- and now they are scurrying away like cockroaches.

This IS a big story. And it is going to get even bigger. We haven't gotten to the bottom of it yet. It just remains to be seen how "Gannon" learned about Val Plame, wife of that pesky Joe Wilson, was a CIA agent. Was it in his capacity as "journalist" or as a whore?

Was "Gannon" blackmailing someone -- give me access to the WH or I will expose you? That would explain why Scotty tolerated such a conspicious "loose cannon" in the press corps....

It could be the notorious ability of authoritarians to split and compartmentalize their minds, and their genius for hypocrisy.

Or they're freaking out because they had embraced him as one of their own. They loved what he was saying, his recklessness, his brazen style, so much they they never questioned him or anything he ever said. Now "Gannon" is poopooing the idea that anyone could consider him a risk because he so obviously adored the president and his agenda. I disagree. Unstable people are extremely unpredictable, and that's why they are routinely screened out by investigators. I think even little Scotty must have realized, even if he did condone "Gannon" on some level, that the guy was a little nuts and unpredictable and unmanageable.

If they really cared about the security of their beloved president, I think they'd be upset that a demimonde was able to get so close to him.

Security checks are supposed to weed out the unstable. The unstable are considered security risks. Guckert had more kinda of jobs and financial troubles -- clearly a drifter, even if you don't factor in his career in domination prostitution and online solicitation of sex clients, which should have kept him far away from the security around the president.

But I guess in the black/white Bizarro world, you are either all good or all evil, and since he was pro-Bush, that meant he had to be all good. They simply can't comprehend even blatant wrongdoing by one of their own.

And people like Blitzer and Kurtz have now painted themselves into a corner, and stand to lose their "reputations" because they were ideologically blind enough, or perhaps instructed, to stick up for this guy on their broadcasts. Like all liars caught in blatant, damaging lies, they have to deny and cover-up their misjudgement.

I understand it is procedure to demand the person being investigated report all aliases and pen names.

Am I to understand the FBI/Secret Service KNEW he was using this alias, and never checked "Jeff Gannon" out? Why not?

Guckert was refused a congressional pass. He was already considered too shady. "Jeff Gannon" is even shadier! But somehow he managed to obtain a daily pass. How was this possible? Did he think he was protected by someone within the WH? Could it possibly be blackmail on his part?

Again, I state, if anyone as unstable as a domination hooker got into my presidential presence, and sorry folks, prostitutes ARE considered security risks -- I'd be calling for heads to roll. The fact that so many people are downplaying this story speaks volumes.
