Please DU this Poll on Dean--it needs help
I know it is on the nasty AOL, so it is for you that unfortunately, like me, still have it; but the article is really better than most I have read elsewhere. I think it is good for some of us to watch out on the less desirable outlets of "news"
---------------

Dean Ready to Take Charge of Democrats

Party Betting on His Proven Organizational, Fund-Raising Skills
By NANCY BENAC, AP

<snip>

"The weakness that everyone in Washington is afraid of is almost his strength,'' said Elaine Kamarck, a Democratic National Committee member who was an early backer of Dean's bid to chair the party. "He actually has the ability to lead people and inspire people. This is not a bad trait in a party chairman.''

<snip>

Jim Dean, the candidate's brother, says he can tell from Howard's tone of voice that "he's very much approaching this the way he approached his office when he first became governor. He knows there's plenty to learn and plenty to get acclimated to. He's got some plans and some convictions about what he wants to do, but I think he's taking a very open approach.''

No one expects Dean, famously outspoken, to completely muzzle himself. Dean jokes that the Washington insider's definition of a gaffe is "when you tell the truth and they think you shouldn't have.''

<snip>

His style ever will be blunt: "We have to never be afraid to say what we believe,'' he insists.

Edited on Sat Feb-12-05 08:30 AM by MoJoWorkin
someone needs to kick it so that it will get more attention.

Or we could just ignore it---and let them do it to us some more.

12. new to DU could you please define "freeper"
and the other forms of the word. "freeped" I understand it refers to conservatives or republicans but is there a more colorful definition?
