Is Zell Miller still a member of the Democratic party?
If so, why? Is there no mechanism by which a lunatic like Zell can be expelled?

4. Why should we publicly humiliate him?
He does a fine job of that himself.

7. Naw, he made it up to platinum when he gave the smear vets medals
Oh couldn't we just have some sort of ceremony, say "I break with thee" three times, spit into the wind, and then say "Thou art no longer a Dem. Out wit chu!"

But then he'd probably still run around saying he's a Dem. He's their token Blue. Except that's just paint. If you scratch him, he's red underneath.

10. Anybody remember the old TV show "Branded"?
I'm giving away my age here, but in the opening sequence, Chuck Connors was drummed out of the US Cavalry. An officer tore off his medals, his epaulets and his sergeant stripes, and broke his sword in two, in front of his men. Something like that would reasonable--something with an air of ritual humiliation, yes.

12. time to abolish nonpartisan primaries in Louisiana and Georgia..
Edited on Wed Feb-09-05 08:00 PM by flaminbats
Even in an open primary Republicans can run in the Democratic primaries, and Democrats in the Republican primaries. Zell was elected to the Senate in a nonpartisan primary.
