Stop the March to War (again)
Edited on Wed Feb-09-05 03:54 PM by justinsb
According to CNN

U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said today that Iran must live up to its international obligations to halt its nuclear program or the next steps are in the offing. "And I think everybody understands what the 'next steps' mean," Rice told reporters after a meeting with NATO foreign ministers and European Union officials. In his state of the union address, President Bush singled out Iran as "the world's primary state sponsor of terror -- pursuing nuclear weapons."

Hmm...state sponsor of terror, WMD - yep I think we know what the 'next steps' would be...There are currently over 7100 signatures on the petition urging the UN General Assembly to pass a resolution against war in Iran (preemptively). Please help with a big push so I can get this off to them.

1. Done. I heard what she said on NPR this morning and about had to stop the
car so I scream at the radio. I hope the people in this country can get their heads out of their asses for long enough to see what is going on. War in Iran 2006?

2. Thanks and please pass it along
I need to get this off to the UN as soon as possible, before something diabolically stupid happens (again).

7. West Wing Turns the Table on War in Iran
There was an interesting and timely episode of West Wing tonight. In response to an incident in Iran, Britain and France were reactionary warmongers who were ready to move into Iran with guns blazing. The British Ambassador was portrayed as a Rumsfeld-like cowboy.

Meanwhile, it was the American government that was emphasizing caution, diplomacy and providing the Iranians to a way out in which they could save face.

(Of course, the British, French and Germans have been recently working hard towards a diplomatic solution in Iran, while the U.S. is preparing for military attacks on Iran.)

3. Geez, we better stop it
Russia will not sit by while Iran is invaded. In fact, Russia might get together with Iran, China, and India. Wouldn't put it past this maladministration to recklessly start World War III!

i figure the only way we can get traction is to SUPPORT a full scale invasion & occupation of iran. and then syria & lebanon. like billionaires for bush, employ irony so deep that the rubes can't tell. be so rabid that we help turn the public off on "killing for peace".

start asking people on the street to donate their sons & daughters to the military. hand out enlistment forms. especially those with 15, 16 year olds. "do you support invading iran? will you sign your child up for the infantry now? special early-admission college tuition rates!"

if they say no, get in their face & call them unamerican, tell them they obviously don't care about democracy.

PRO WAR, ANTI TROOP!

5. condi: the great diplomat
i'd call that an excellent example of diplomacy ... the Iranians state that they are interested in talking things through with the U.S. and Madame Diplomat responds: "if you don't do what we say, we're going to kill you" ...

sounds reasonable to me ... now bush can show they tried to use diplomacy before choosing the military option ...

the Democrats better start speaking out against "the next step" NOW !!!
