Heads up for Kerry supporters
A right wing news source has tipped its hand on an attack relating to Kerry's anti-Vietnam war protests. I'm not sure why they did it now, I don't really think it will hurt him in the primaries because many Democrats *support* him for taking a stand agaisnt the war. But think could hurt Kerry in the general election. I'm not going to link to the filth here, PM me and I'll send the link to you.

(Yes, my first choice is Clark, because I think he would be both a better candidate against Bush, and a better President. But I like Kerry too, he's my second choice... and besides, this smear goes beyond the pale, IMHO. I just wanted to give you a heads up so you can be prepared.)

6. Not here.
I won't link to it here for the anti-Kerry folks to use on DU against a good man. IMHO, it would be shameful for anyone claiming to support the principles of the DemocraticUnderground to do so, but that doesn't mean that nobody would.

9. Why exactly is he unelectable?
Because he can't pull young voters (like he did in Iowa)?
Because he can't win the votes of first timers (like he did in Iowa)?
Because he won't get the votes of any anti-war voters (like he did in Iowa)?

People can gripe all they want but he got a nice chunk of the voters out there, in a lot of demographics and areas that other candidates laid claim to. So at least in one state, the unelectable argument as applies to any of the above hasn't really proved itself out.

I'm not saying it won't, but right now the "unelectable" cry applies to other candidates a little more than it does to Kerry.

You're exactly on the money.

8. The War Record Trap is well baited and ready for the Repugs
All I can say is that the Repugs are walking right into the trap perfectly if they want to play that War Record Game.

Kerry has laid a perfectly ready to pounce trap for Bush and Rove to walk into and get clamped on.

I hear they like cheese.

11. No sweat. They've been doing it for over 30 years. Nixonites planted
stories during that time to bring Kerry down. They wanted people to see him as a "phony"...it's on the Nixon tapes.

The right ramped it up against Kerry while he was investigating BCCI and IranContra. He's already been Scaifed.

Kerry is still here.
