Mario Cuomo Said
"Wes Clark is a man of whom you can ask a question, and he will look you directly in the eye, and give you the most truthful and complete answer you can imagine. You will know the absolute truth of the statement as well as the thought process behind the answer. You will have no doubt as to the intellect of the speaker and the meaning of the answer to this question....so you can see, as a politician, he has a lot to learn."

That was said in 2003 before Clark entered the race. Now Clark will answer the question equally brilliantly, but he has picked up the political nuances. Clark '08!!!!

And fond Cuomo memories. My fondest, besides his keynote speech at the Democratic National Convention eons ago, was his acceptance speech in the 1977 NYC mayoralty race. He defeated Ed Koch (EDIT: in the primary) (but went on to lose to him in November anyway) after a bitter campaign, but nonetheless gave the most gracious speech I'd ever heard a winning candidate make--so gracious that it sounded as if he had conceded to Koch!

No chance of something like that happening in campaigns nowadays.

(My apolgies for temporarily hijacking a Clark thread!)

2. Still have "America Needs Wes Clark"
sticker on my fridge. My Kerry sticker is fading fast on my car with each wash. We could have and still can win with Wes.

3. Obviously, he doesnt have a chance ...

Adlai Stevenson Anecdote:

A supporter once called out, "Governor Stevenson, all thinking people are for you!" And Adlai Stevenson answered, "That's not enough. I need a majority."

4. Wes Clark 2008! Wes Clark can answer any question truthfully...
and with grace. He is both a great intellectual, policy maker, speaker, and human being. He boldly defended his Country for 35 years as a soldier, he's doing it now as a citizen, and in four years he will be doing it as our 44th President!

An honest, truthful, wise individual with integrity. We could use some of those people in politics. Go Wes Clark. Hope to see you in the running in 2008. I'm tired of seeing professional propagandists in office

7. Oh and Kerry is a clueless, flip-flopping waffler (sarcasm)
I like the General. I guess I am just sad that it may have been Kerry's only opportunity to run. He would have made a good president.

8. He would have been a great president.
The Rove machine and terror were too tough to beat this year.

9. Wes Clark has it all, except...
the political experience.

He has:
- intelligence
- fine military record
- patience
- clarity
- courage
- and very good looks for somebody his age.

That sounds superficial, and it is. But I believe it does play a huge role in elections. I think he needs to organize in these four years so he can start out his campaign strongly. I will be keeping a very close eye on him to see if I really like him, because I will NOT settle for a democratic candidate again. I will vote for who I know will stand up for my rights and I believe Clark may be the one. We'll see.

11. Clark has had plenty of
political experience on the world stage as a military leader which also involved foreign diplomatic experience and career governance. Politics is involved in all aspects of living.
