Uh-oh, Communist Party Called for Support of Kucinich
Those who are most advanced need visible support, like Jan Schakowsky, Cynthia McKinney, Hilda Solice, Dennis Kucinich, etc.

How will this play in middle America?

8. I disagree...
Speaking for myself, but as a Midwestern transplant. Dennis represents OHIO after all.

Not a big deal though as I'm still going for Dean here in Columbus on Super Tuesday.

2. Since nobody will hear about it anyway
what's the harm?

And the freepers, who will go into a feeding frenzy, would never vote for him.

Communism doesn't really concern the rest of the population outside Miami.

5. It should concern them.
1.5 billion people are still enslaved under it.

9. Go read the whole page before you make conclusions
...and you'll see they're actually talking about supporting members of the congressional Progressive Caucus who are fighting against FTAA, "fast-track", drilling in ANWR, etc.

BTW, many members of the Progressive Caucus also support Howard Dean. So take this as you will...

3. they really ought to
change their name. It just instantly makes people hate them. This can't be good for DK. Personally, I think it's just fine, but, you know how people are...

4. you will have to define midwest
jan schakowsky is my rep. we love her. but then we are big city pinkos here. rethugs would have a very hard time targetting her.
i have to admit that i don't lump her with mc kinney. she is not that kind of a fire-brand.

6. Nice out of context quote

How about the full paragraph, plus the three that precede it.

If an increase in the minimum wage could be won during Gingrich's regime, certainly it is possible now to win expansion of unemployment compensation and health care.

Objectively, this struggle, along with the civil liberties, immigrant rights and environmental protection struggles, cannot be separated from the effort to end the war. As Sam said, they are all part of the ‘casualties". The fightback against each returns the spotlight back onto reactionary Bush policies, and expands the potential for growing unity.

With the help of Tim Wheeler, we have quickly prepared a list of the status of some of the key legislation now on the front burner, which will be distributed. These include stopping: Anwar drilling, FTAA / Fast Track, anti-terrorism repressive legislation, weapons in space, corporate tax giveaways; and passing: economic aid for working people and other progressive measures including infrastructure repair, and legislation to "leave no child behind". Due to time, Tim will discuss the anti-terrorism legislation when he speaks.

We have also duplicated a list of the 57 members of the Progressive Caucus. There are different political trends within this Caucus. Those who are most advanced need visible support, like Jan Schakowsky, Cynthia McKinney, Hilda Solice, Dennis Kucinich, etc. Those who are more moderate need to be pushed to support the best proposals on the table. They need to know that it is not okay to split the difference between Wall St. and workers. They need to hear from their constituents who oppose the war.

As you can see, the author is talking about stopping fast-track trade, drilling in ANWR, ending corporate welfare and fighting against the PATRIOT act. Things that are championed by the House Progressive Caucus, of which many Dean endorsees are members?

Desperate times apparently call for desperate measures-- at least among certain Dean supporters. :eyes:

nobody hears about it ;)

yes folks...the commies realize they will never win a major election, and they have been endorsing dems for something like 30 years now.

I'm sure the KKK endorses the pukes. What is the big deal?

That they didn't endorse Dean. Lord knows what would have happened as a result of that.

Which of the world parties would you classify him as? Social Democrat is my best guess.

Do people in this forum just hate liberals? Do you wish they would go away and shut the hell up? Or how about if they just stop participating and voting, would that make you proud?

Everyone has their point of view, and if they are no longer welcome in one party...they will find someplace where these views are embraced. I think it's important to point out that they are backing the efforts of the progressive caucus, not endorsing any Presidential candidate. Personally I welcome these people into our party, and others on the outside who offer their political support to members of our party.
