5. Not I.
One reason. As Rick James would say, "UNITY!" Though we're not going to give this President what he wants by any stretch of the imagination, we shouldn't make such a loud statement like that. Of course, we'd all be applauding but what would Joe Schmoe who voted for Clinton twice but went Bush this time think of when he stepped into the ballot box in 2008.

41. "we're not going to give this President what he wants"
He doesn't care what we want, repubs control the universe right now.
He'll take what he wants, and repubs will give it to him. Any dissent will be labeled "sour grapes, partisan, unpatriotic". I say do it, walk out, boo, whatever it takes, followed by edumacating the losers who believe shrub is 'brilliant'. Hammer it home, every hour, every day-"* is a liar, he is a criminal, he is a warmonger, he is a torturer. He has the blood of 100,000 on his hands, he bribes journalists to spread propaganda, he wants to control all media Soviet-style.

If he says something that impugns the dems, they should walk out at that point. Otherwise, they should sit there and take notes on how to attack the fucker with his own statements later.

39. I think it would be lovely...
...for the SOTU address, if a crafty Dem could rig up some sound equipment and pipe in a laugh track that was remote controlled.

I'm talking--a real laugh track--like one from a 1970's sit com--like "Love American Style" or "The Partridge Family".

Remember the Doomsday plan?:
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=102&topic_id=1137194

"Any lawmaker unable to make it to the chamber would effectively not be counted as a congressman."

All it would take is a timely made-to-order "disaster" and the Dems wouldn't even be in the picture anymore.

46. i do. but gwb would just ignore it. just like he ignores the protesters
out on the streets in MURRIKA and around the world. He wouldn't even be face by it. He might make a joke out of it like he did when kerry said he owned some stocks in a lumber company and the cretin asked the moderator in that debate if he needed some wood.

what could the democrats really do that would make him lose his kool?

Could they interrupt his speech? that seems to startle him? Could they ask him point blank, WHY ARE YOU ANNHILATING EVERYTHING THAT MURRIKA STANDS FOR? THAT might get him to blink his eyes wildly.

If only the democrats could do something, anything, to get him to lose his kool, publicly, on television, in a way that the vast majority of the public would awaken to the realization that the man addressing them under the title of pRESIDENT is really an insane son of barbara.

i would really like that.

And I'm sure, we'll see it many times tonight.
