Bush meets definition of a true fanatic


Norman Doidge, a professor of psychiatry at the University of Toronto, gives these symptoms of fanaticism:
a. intolerant of dissent,
b. holds to a doctrine full of contradictions,
c. believes that his cause has been blessed and commanded by God,
d. uses reinforcement and repetition to spread his message.

A fanatic sees himself acting for God. He has a circular logic, very powerful, that combines God's authority with a messenger who carries out that authority. According to the Israeli newspaper Haaritz, President Bush told the Palestinian prime minister that "God told me to strike at al-Qaida and I struck them. Then he instructed me to strike at Saddam, which I did. Now I am determined to solve the problems in the Middle East."
Such is our leadership. A fanatic!

I hate talking on the phone but I did call the gentleman at his home to thank him for his great letter. He was quiet when I asked if he had written the letter probably waiting for me to start swearing at him.

Definition of a Cult
Every cult can be defined as a group having all of the following 5 characteristics:

1. It uses psychological coercion to recruit, indoctrinate and retain its members

2. It forms an elitist totalitarian society

3. Its founder leader is self-appointed, dogmatic, messianic, not accountable and has charisma

4. It believes 'the end justifies the means' in order to solicit funds recruit people

5. Its wealth does not benefit its members or society

I guess that's one reason why I'm not one of them.
