I long for the good old days when conservatives hated
homosexuals for their alleged wacky, out of control, hedonistic lifestyles; where anything and everything goes. Imagine my surprise when those conservatives flip-flopped and now hate homosexuals because they want to settle down and get married. I think I'm onto something - hate is the common denominator of conservative thought and action.

And one question and answer for conservatives. Why does the constitution have to be amended to define marriage the way you want it defined? BECAUSE IT ISN'T IN THERE NOW.

4. I thought you were going to say you missed the good old days
when conservatives hated intrusive big government, and fiscal irresponsibility...

Sigh. I miss those days. Now they want ever bigger and more intrusive govt to "keep us safe" not only from boogie men but from anyone who <shudder> might be different...

I miss America, melting pot which welcomed folks of all types. I miss tolerance and acceptance. Live and let live. The whole fundie neocon hate/fear/hate screed is seriously depressing.

5. Then there's the whole gay cartoon thing....
They go out of their way to persecute Sponge Bob and the Teletubbies, yet where were they when Bugs Bunny was openly dressing in drag and kissing Elmer Fudd on the lips?

6. Hate is their forte
In a lecture by some journalist I saw, the speaker noted that Rush Limbaugh mentioned, in reference to the liberals, "Leave some alive." In other words, without the liberals there, the reds couldn't exercise their life practice - hating. The opposition, though necessary, stirs greater hatred for us (democrats) by them and thus proves their point more. It's not necessarily the religious campaign of theirs that's meant to work, it's the sole idea of hatred.

7. I long for the days when the GOP actually hated
'big government', the death of privacy and the erosion of civil liberties, runaway federal spending wasted for dubious causes, and half-assed economic policies...wow...they seem like such a different party now

8. That's why I think Seymour Hersch is spot on
when he calls what's in there now a "cult". It has nothing to do with reason or values, but blind following of a leader. I wonder how many of the Republicans in office even know the difference between propaganda and a fact. I know some know exactly what they are doing..but all of them? Facts take open eyes, not faith.
