Which Neo-Con Do You Most Love To Hate?
Edited on Wed Feb-02-05 07:33 AM by DistressedAmerican
Personally I am pretty torn. I love to hate Pearle, Rummy and Wolfy more than the others. However, I have a hard time deciding which of the three I dislike more.

If pressed I'd probably say Richard Pearle is my most reviled. Mainly because he was the brains behind the whole Neo-Con scheme for world domination. What's worse is that he wields huge power despite never being elected or nominated to a government job.

There are certainly enough running around to choose from. Rummy has BIG GUNS at his disposal. William Kristol certainly has many points against him as well. Then again there is Cheney or Jeb. So many choices!

So who what Neo-Con do you think is doing the most harm to the country?

1. Grover Norquist
This repugnant piece of shit obviously has no idea what life is like in the real world. Had he lived in 18th century France, his head would've already been separated from his shoulders.

5. Did a little browsing on Grover and came up with this among other
stuff:

In the words of former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich, Grover Norquist is "the person who I regard as the most innovative, creative, courageous and entrepreneurial leader of the anti-tax efforts and of conservative grassroots activism in America . . . He has truly made a difference and truly changed American history."

A Little Job History:
Mr. Norquist is president of Americans for Tax Reform (ATR), a coalition of taxpayer groups, individuals and businesses opposed to higher taxes at both the federal, state and local levels. ATR organizes the TAXPAYER PROTECTION PLEDGE, which asks all candidates for federal and state office to commit themselves in writing to oppose all tax increases. To date, President George W. Bush, 211 House members, and 38 Senators have taken the pledge. On the state level, 8 governors and 1279 state legislators have taken the pledge.

Mr. Norquist also:

- Serves on the Board of the National Rifle Association of America.

- Serves on the Board of the American Conservative Union.

- Writes the monthly politics column for the American Enterprise Institute Magazine.

- Served as a Commissioner on the Advisory Commission on Electronic Commerce.

- Wrote the book Rock the House - an analysis of the 1994 elections, which has been translated and published in Japanese.

- Served on the National Commission on Restructuring the Internal Revenue Service.

4. Speaking of under the radar evil doers!
I actually had to do a lookup on that one. Here's the repugnant facts on the guy:
------------------------
EDITOR
Peter Beinart

Peter Beinart has been Editor of The New Republic since November 1999.

He graduated from Yale University in 1993, winning both Rhodes and Marshall (declined) scholarships for graduate study at Oxford University.

After graduating from University College, Oxford in the summer of 1995 with a masters of philosophy degree in international relations, Beinart returned to TNR as managing editor. He became Senior Editor in June 1997 and Editor two years later. He writes TNR's weekly TRB column, which runs in The New York Post.

Beinart also writes a monthly column for The Washington Post, and has written for The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Financial Times, The Boston Globe, The Atlantic Monthly, Newsweek, and Time, where he is a contributor.

ANYBODY that is employed the the New Republic is on my list. An editor is a high value target. Thanks for reminding me to find out who else is over there.

7. The ones who try to look like nice guys
Bush's former speechwriter. The guy responsible for the phrase "axis of evil" and William Kristol.

I get sick and tired of these wolves in sheep's clothing.

At least Rumsfeld, Cheney, and Paul "I don't hide the fact that I am a Wolf" Wolfowitz look like the crooks they are and don't try to hide it.

He is a Gigantic, Butt Weasel, Mouthpiece by just about any measure. I can't believe that that guy got a fat contract with CNN. Oh yeah, that shouldn't surprise me. After all they employ Novak!

9. Perle. Definately Perle
Perle is sort of the Tom DeLay of the neocons; he's the most offensive, arrogant, blatantly evil and corrupt, detestible, ruthless bastard of the entire lot.

10. I also think Perle is the ugliest of the lot, 1 step above a hog.
Although Rummy does look like a cross between Skeletor and Mrs. Doubtfire.

12. I've actually found myself starting to like Kristol
for that very reason. Guys like Perle and Rumsfeld are easy to hate because they're such blatant and tactless warmongerers. But Kristol is different. He's like a character out of Orwell's 1984. He's arguably the most idealogically pure of the neocons, but he's also intelligent, eloquent, and as you said, he comes across as entirely reasonable. This makes him probably the most dangerous of the neocons, but for some reason, the most likeable. It's strange.

13. You are both right about the "reasonable" ones
Edited on Wed Feb-02-05 09:25 AM by DistressedAmerican
They are insidious. They fly in under all but the most fine-tuned radar. If I was a neocon and I was picking one of these evil bastards to be my front man, It would most definately be Kristol. Who the hell wants to see Perle? He foams at the mouth.

I was strangely drawn to Rummy because he was able to immediately disarm all critics by immediately admitting in a folksy manner that we were all going to die, then taking questions. Something hypnotic about it. He'd be right there telling the media that a large atack was coming and that many would die and nobody in the whole room would bat an eye. Amazing political skill.

Dean says that he hates republicans and what they stand for, but he admires their dicipline, and you take that to mean he's a neocon????

21. Sorry to take the pitiful lame ass bait...
The first half of that out of context line is...
"I hate the Republicans and everything they stand for"

Frankly, I admire their discipline and organization as well. With horror but, still. I guess i'm a wannabe too? We could learn some things from the folks that keep kicking the crap out of us.

Another:
But Dean said the Democrats should not change their beliefs to be "Republican lite."

Wannabe Neocon? Give me a freaking break.

22. It's not bait. That's how I see it. Dean's "admiration" of their filthy
election operation is no different from any other capitulation and probably worse, since it's illegal.

I say stick to your guns, run a clean show, keep doing the hard work, and win the right way. My money stays on Kerry.

23. I though I was harsh on the Dems for being appeasers!
You attack Dean as a Repug appeaser but, you still love Mr. "I can't do a thing about Ohio" Kerry? That guy is the biggest sellout this side of Lieberman. Was that "sticking to his guns" and "doing the hard work"?
