Fight like hell against these labels on Dean, Kennedy, ect.
As you may know, I am supporting Donnie Fowler for DNC chair, however, the recent attacks on Howard Dean by the right wing must be stopped. In my opinion, the reason we lose elections is because we don't stand up. We let the right wing and the media define our candidates and our party too early and we can't fight back. We need to define ourselves. We have to fight like hell to win this battle. We need talking points and must be on the same page if we are to defeat this right wing conspiracy. Dean may become DNC chair and they are already saying he is a wacko and lying about his stances on gays and defense. They are also calling Ted Kennedy a traitor for speaking out against this war. We cannot let this happen. At our website, the Al Gore Support Center, we have a media watch group that replies to the media whenever they deflame Al Gore in this manor. Our work has seem to worked in some cases, but I think it needs to be more widespread. We should all be on alert when we see and hear these lies. Reply to them, call them out, and respond to the truth.

I urge you to take the power into your hands and make the Democratic party what you believe it is, not what they want it to be.

1. The reason we lose elections

is because we're all over the place... there seems to be no coordination of anything. That, and the GOP is organized as hell. eom

4. That's exactly correct
I certainly appreciate the sentiments expressed by Jackson4Gore. There will be many attacks in the coming days on both the party and Howard Dean. Donnie Fowler will certainly do his best to support the party and the ambitions of Howard Dean , just as Howard Dean wholeheartedly supported John Kerry in the general election.

The tendency in the past has been that a lot of democrats get real excited for the election year, but then go dormant in the next three years. The republicans were able to achieve their victories because they did not do this; they remained active, and, more importantly, they viewed their party, particularly the neocons who have taken over, AS A MOVEMENT. They remained active and organized and worked tirelessly , both locally and statewide.

THAT is what the party needs and , this realization has finally hit home with the party leadership. As the primary proponent of this philosophy, Howard Dean will make huge strides for us in this direction. We will maintain a more consistent message and stop being all over the place if we all just remain active.

After all, it's our country that's at stake.

5. Good points here
& good ideas for both the present and future.
These coalitions and a coordinated response to the right wing are what we need. Without this, they succeed in continuing to divide us against ourselves and they stay in power as a result.
