Saw this on http://talkingpointsmemo.com

I hope it's true. If so, it's great news.

2. They have no reason to, even the DINOs won't support it cuz it's unpopular

The only unfortunate part is that we need 6 Repukes to vote NAY since I think that senate rules won't allow a fillibuster to block this type of vote. I'm thinking probably between Chafee, Collins, Snowe, Specter, and McCain along with some vulnerables up for re-election: DeWine, Ensign, Talent, etc. I'm thinking between this crowd we can probably get six votes. Hopefully though, it'll be six people who aren't vulnerable and thus we can unseat those who are.

3. Well supposedly there are many congressional Republicans
who aren't such big fans of da Shrub's plan. Supporting this plan wouldn't be such a good idea, if say, you're a certain republican senator from Rhode Island. And I wonder if the 2 Mainers will support it. I would say Specter but he has shown he is willing to take it up the ass from these people so who knows. And even Mel Martinez, supporting this probably wouldn't go over to well with the large senior population of Florida.

4. Martinez won't say no if Bush tells him to vote for it

And they'll be banking on the prospect that people will have forgotten about it and six years when he is up for re-election and also that they can get him re-elected with a "Strong family values" campaign.
