Barbara Boxer SUCKS!
She supports the death penalty for cop killers. She's such a sellout.

/sarcasm

Is ANYBODY getting my point?

1. Yes
I'm just going to have to avoid DU during any key vote. B/c someone of the other's bound to wind up on the DU shitlist and I'm not talking about true sellouts who deserve it.

3. Well
If they kill cops, they deserve it. If they got good reason there is always the court.

Better they die then come out to kill innocents people.

5. Not what I meant
I meant that nobody is perfect. Demonizing senators for a single vote or single issue position is dumb.

7. Yeah, that's what I meant to say
Nobody can expect any politician to be in step with every issue they're interested in, it's absurd. Politicians have to represent a large group of people with varying interests, cultures and principles. To be successful and get elected, they have to build a coalition and find common ground within the various groups. Republicans understand that very well and that's why even though they're mostly scumbags, they're kicking our asses at the polls.

If their (the politician or the voters) ideology is extreme and unwavering and they focus one group of issues, refusing to compromise and find common ground, they will never win elections even if they're perfect Saints.

just my opinion.

6. I disagree with Barbara Boxer on this issue
And will use my voice as one of her supporters to try and change her mind.

When it came to legislation pertaining to the Death Penalty I would work against her vigorously and support her on other issues with which I agree with her.

No politician gets my support carte blanche. Praise them when they do good and kick them in the teeth when they do bad.

Seems simple enough to me.

8. Sellouts
The problem is that some people use the term sellout to describe someone who disagrees with them on a particular issue. To me, a sellout is someone who votes in a way they don't even agree with. This is why Russ Feingold is not a sellout (for voting for Condi) or Boxer for this stance on the DP, but Kerry was a sellout for voting for the war. He knew better. I don't think it makes me overly critical to say so.

12. That's because it's an oversimplification, and dismissive
of the very real concerns of many of the posters here.

Its just calling for a rationale discussion insted of a mass condemnation made with a limited perspective.
