The Democratic Candidates: The true party leaders.
I am talking about the four major ones but here they are:

Howard Dean: Shook up the tone of the debate by being against the war. Believed that we need to stand up to Bush to beat him. He brought new people into the process. Made people (myself included) believe when they lost faith in this dark time.

Wesley Clark: Added army credentials to the field. Gave slightly conservative voters a Democrat that they can respect. Makes a formidable opponent for Bush.

John Kerry: Decorated Vietnam veteran. He is telling Bush to bring it on with foreign policy and making it clear that he can mop the floor with Bush on what is his "strongest" issue.

John Edwards: He is giving people a message of hope in a time of darkness. He is like the second coming of Bill Clinton.

1. Good call
Personally, I wish we could roll them all into one candidate and run him against Bush. That would be perfect. Since that isn't possible, I think I shall side with Kerry. However, they're all great. I'm so happy to have these people leading our party now. I'm so proud to be a Democrat tonight.

Cheers from a fellow Coloradan! Dark side of the moon rocks.

2. The true Democratic response, from John Edwards:
"When the president says, 'The state of our union is strong,' you need to ask 'which union Mr. President?'" Edwards said. "Because the state of George Bush's union-the America of the Washington lobbyists, special interests and his CEO friends-is doing just fine. They get what they want, whenever they want.

"But in our America, the union for working Americans is a struggle every single day. Almost 3 million private sector jobs gone, including 22,000 manufacturing jobs in New Hampshire, more than 300,000 Americans gave up looking for work last month alone, 3 million more Americans are living in poverty, almost 4 million have lost their health insurance. Health care premiums are up 50 percent, and your incomes are down. Bankruptcies and credit card debt are at all time highs. Housing costs and college tuition are soaring."
