May I have the honor of starting a F**K YOU JOE LIEBERMAN thread
on c-span 2 now, wasting my time, talking about how terorists have no regard for life - yes...the culture of life.

8. Embers of democracy are beginning to glow!
unfortunately, they're glowing on the burned skin of Iraqi torture victims . . . .in that wrong county we invaded . . . to take out the guy we put in power last time . . . who wouldn't cooperate with Osama.

There's a message. Tell Osama to bunk off, we'll invade your nonterrorist harboring country!

39. Blivet is a term introduced here recently:
blivet

/bliv'*t/ "ten pounds of manure in a five-pound bag"] 1. An intractable
problem.

2. A crucial piece of hardware that can't be fixed or replaced
if it breaks.

3. A tool that has been hacked over by so many incompetent
programmers that it has become an unmaintainable tissue of
hacks.

4. An out-of-control but unkillable development effort.

5. An embarrassing bug that pops up during a customer demo.

6. In the subjargon of computer security specialists, a
denial-of-service attack performed by hogging limited
resources that have no access controls (for example, shared
spool space on a multi-user system).

This term has other meanings in other technical cultures;
among experimental physicists and hardware engineers of
various kinds it seems to mean any random object of unknown
purpose (similar to hackish use of frob). It has also been
used to describe an amusing trick-the-eye drawing resembling a
three-pronged fork that appears to depict a three-dimensional
object until one realises that the parts fit together in an
impossible way.

44. Intriguing...
In your initial post, did you intend to imply that Bush was an embarrasing bug, or an out-of-control but unkillable developement?
Or an unmaintainable tissue of hacks? Any of those seems to fit the context.

14. A Bush "Democrat"
That's what Lieberman is ... I put the word 'Democrat' in quotation marks because, frankly, I don't think you can be a 'Democrat' and support Bush at the same time.

I just heard Lieberman say that he thinks Condi Rice is up to the job as Secretary of State. In Lieberman's world apparently, lying is a good thing.

I sure hope there is a good, progressive Democrat, Green, or Independent who will take on Slow Joe next year.

...

My gosh. The more I listen to this Senate speech of Lieberman's the more disgusting he gets. Is he getting ready to cross the aisle and join the radical Republicans?!!!!

29. Hey, DSB, I was trying to point out the blatant hypocrisy
that BushCo peddles and that Joe is parroting here.

Bush planned Iraq BEFORE 9/11, remember? This has nothing to do with terrorism, which no one can justify. "Terrorism" is the FIGLEAF they use to take our money and our children and our civil rights.

What a deal.

35. Of Course...
I am just asking for nuance not on Lieberman but on the effort to reduce terrorism...

Notice I don't call it a war because terrorism is a tactic and you can't defeat a tactic...

Any way, we need a weed and seed approach to terrorism... Kill or imprison the bad guys while ameliorating the conditions that give rise to them...

I give this administration a D+ on the former and F on the latter....

25. Lieberman needs to hear from all us, not just his constituents.
If he can't stand with his party against something as damaging to this country as appointing Condi-lies-alot Rice to represent us around the world,he might as well just resign from the Democrats. This is against everything the Democratic Party stands for.

Dem leadership in the Senate needs to hear from us about continuing to use him as a mouthpiece for the party outside of the Senate. If I want to listen to an R, I'll listen to one. I don't want to hear a DINO.
