Draft is often in the discussion these days but I don't know why. Would one not think that those who supported george bush would be rushing to enlist or take their sons or nephews down to the recruiting station to sign up? After all, it is their war. Why one would think with a conservative mandate, we would not be reading stories about how the active and reserve forces are not meeting recruiting goals. Maybe you can ask this question of your conservative acquaintances and ask them if they having any feeling of responsibility. Go back to WWII and there wasn't any shortage of personnel available to fight that war. My father in law, who landed on Omaha Beach on D-Day told me after he graduated from High School he was waiting to get drafted. He got tired of waiting and signed up with a bunch of his buddies. I guess conservatives are better at spreading hate and discontent and ignorance and lies then developing esprit d'corps and doing something truly honorable. Isn't it ashame there are so many of them.
