Do you need 60 votes to confirm a cabinet member.
If so, if enough Dems do their job, could there be an eternal filibuster.

Sorry, I'm a little murky on senate procedure.

2. The Democrats also will vote to confirm Condoleeza.
Cabinet members are not judges, who work independently of the executive. Cabinet members work for and under the President. That sets the bar lower from the Senate's viewpoint. When the Democrats on the committee vote to confirm, don't hold that against them. The same will be expected of GOP senators, when a Democrat is president.

I might be wrong. I haven't been following the hearings. Still.. keep that in mind.
