Please Help Start An Independent Television News Network

Dear fellow DU'ers,

The World News Trust Project is rolling again. I set up a web site this morning at Mayetic Village where we can all collaborate on the project. The old site is inactive, so be sure to register for the new site.

World News Trust is a collaborative effort by a few hundred members of Democratic Underground and others to establish a non-partisan, non-corporatist news service, with text, radio and TV distribution, including a 24-hour cable/satellite TV channel.

We need the help of everyone interested, so please send your first and last name to me at the following address: [e-mail] . If you'd prefer to use your DU handle on the WNT site, that's fine. In any case, I'll send you a password that you can change when you log on.

It will take me a week or so to get everyone registered, so please be a little patient at first.

I'm in the process of contacting former participants, but if you were involved before and would like to participate once more, please contact me.

There is a chat room on the new site. I'll be hosting a general meeting each night at 9 p.m. EST. Everyone, come and join the discussion!

I, and I expect many other people, would like information on the project before I give anyone my email. I thought you were posting this to recruit volunteers. Perhaps I read a post that was intended to be for a select group. If so, I apologize.

We experienced technical difficulties tonight. The site is only a few hours old. I'll do more testing and send you the info in a day or so. Also, we'll have an informational public site up very shortly.
