Flavia Colgan gave it back to Joe Scarborough last night !
And she did it in spades. Scarborough was ragging on with Newsweak's Fineman about how Dan Rather should have been put to sleep, so to speak, and punished for CBS's investigation of W's "Lost Year" in the Texas Air National Guard.

This babe didn't let Scarborough talk over her and she put him in his place when she asked him how any of CBS's journalistic sins compared to Nixon/Watergate when Scarborough tried to say they were comparable ! She ended up saying this was typical Republican 'change the subject' tactics, and Joe 'the Bloviator' Scarborough was left blathering !!!!

To tell you the truth, Scarborough has guts putting her on HIS show since she outclasses his in all ways, not the least of which is GOOD LOOKS, which is a reason MSNBC should seriously consider giving her her own show. Progressive media needs some cable faces out there, don't you think it's about time ?

1. I agree
No doubt. I saw the program last night. My thought was, "let's get this gal out there!" She's got the looks, the knowledge, and the guts. Giving her her own show sounds like a great idea. The only bad thing would be her, then, not being able to appear as much on other programs.

2. Wish I had watched this..
too many times it seems as if the host of program asks a question then proceeds to answer it themselves by drowning out the guest to whom it was directed (O'Reilly is the King of this). Glad someone refused to be drowned out by this method.

4. Agreed. BTW, on the SwiftBoatVetsFor"Truth" thing, I've found
out that O'Neill only served for about 5 or 6 months as compared to Kerry's 4 months. O'Neill's total service in the navy was about 2 years compared with Kerry's 3 and 1/2 years.

O'Neill was going around saying 'average service on swift boats was 12 months." What a deceitful little man.

5. Flip Flop on the Flu by Colgan (&bioterrorism is a current threat)
Edited on Fri Jan-14-05 05:14 PM by MissMarple
Thanks, I googled her name and she seems pretty good. I haven't heard of her before, but, then I don't watch Fox.

The GAO warned of the inadequacy of the flu vaccine production in 2001. This is just another example of the ineptitude of our current misgovernment. One comment from the article on the Bush administration's cluelessness about public health issues in a time of bio terrorism: "They didn't display any comprehension of what the problem was and what should be done about it," he said."

http://www.commondreams.org/views04/1025-20.htm

"Finally, the Kerry campaign has put its finger on the Bush administration's Achilles heel: incompetence, and a terminal case of flip-flopping. "If you can't get flu vaccines to Americans how are you going to protect them against bio terrorism?" Kerry said yesterday. "If you can't get flu vaccines to Americans, what kind of health care program are you running?"

The response? The Bush administration's response to the flu vaccine crisis, which has been growing worse every year, is true to their standard MO: 1) put profits before people, 2) fly by the seat of your pants, 3) if you get into trouble, scramble, and cover your tracks with overblown rhetoric, and 4) flip flop without any trace of shame if you have to.

And major flip-flopping has been the response to the potentially deadly flu vaccine debacle of 2004. Deadly, because according to the CDC, the flu contributes to about 50,000 deaths a year. Flip-flopping, because the hypocrisy of now going to Canada to solve America's health care needs turns the Bush ban on importation of affordable drugs from Canada on its head.

...

And here's the kicker: after all the fuss about protecting pharmaceuticals' profits by prohibiting drug importation from Canada, what does George W. Bush propose?

Yes, ladies and gentlemen…. Flip-Flopper-in-Chief George W. Bush, the president who refuses to allow seniors and others to buy drugs from Canada because it is a "health risk" for American citizens now wants to "work with Canada" to "help us realize the vaccine necessary to make sure our citizens have got flu vaccinations during this upcoming season."

6. Thanks for that link. Flavia appears to be a Democratic consultant
and they're getting their money's worth. BTW, since this is from commondreams, have you seen the Warren Buffett article from awhile back on raising corporate taxes that commondreams did ? Excellent, since Ahnold in CA is trying NOT to raise taxes but cutting services to the poor and middle classes like crazy. Buffett is his econ advisor ! Whattalaugh !

7. He said corporate taxes in '03 are the lowest in 70 years except for 1983.
I think Arnold may be in over his head. This anti-tax dogma springs from misguided, irrational ineptitude.

Here's a link.
