Has U.S. threatened to vaporize Mecca?
I rather doubt this is true. I believe Shrub would have already done it if he thought
he could get away with it. After all, conversion of all to Christianity is his calling.
Speeding up the rapture would have his throngs of adoring fans dancing in the streets.

Interesting article...what are your thoughts?

"Why hasn't Osama bin Laden's terror network executed an attack on U.S. soil since 9-11?

Simple, says Dr. Jack Wheeler, creator of an acclaimed intelligence website dubbed
"the oasis for rational conservatives": The U.S. has threatened to nuke the Muslim
holy city of Mecca should the terror leader strike America again...."

1. A contributor to WorldNutDaily also said
we should vaporize a 100 cities with the highest Muslim population if we are struck by terrorists again.

OBL, in my opinion is more of a Charles Manson figure rather than an Islamic Leader, he doesn't care what happens to Mecca, and we all know that Al Qaeda has struck inside Saudi Arabia several times.

5. Exactly, he's the head of a criminal organization
and should be treated as such, with funding cut off and good police work used internationally to track his criminals down one by one and lock them up so they can't hurt anybody else.

Nuking anything would lead to the next world war, and the US will not win this one. We no longer manufacture enough of what we'd need to win it.

10. I keep forgetting, WorldNetDaily is a religious-based site?
If so, why do these guys sound like the evil Muslims we should fear? What really separates these guys (except for skin color) from the militant Muslims (the same guys who have manipulated their holy book to suit their interests)?

11. No, it is not
It is unfortunate, but I have to say it is a 'news' site.

12. radical fundamentalism...it's ALL the same.
The radical fundamental christians are no less dangerous than the radical fundamental islamists. This is a holy war and the two sects are colliding again. Remember the great so called Christian Crusades? You remember, the ones where we went through Europe lopping off peoples heads who we(christians) considered either pagans or infidels? The muslims never forgot about that. And ......They're baa--aaaack!

2. Bush would never do that to his close friends in Riyad

He's all kissy face with the Saudis. Didn't you notice that even though most of the 9/11 hijackers were Saudi, he blamed it on Iraq?

No, when another major attack happens, Bush will just find some other country to blame it on. Bank on it.

4. This seems like a rabid right wing site, to judge...
by the home page articles.

If it was true (just for the sake of argument)-- how would such a threat have been communicated?
Directly to the Saudi government?
Through Al Jazeera?

It is an interesting, and jarring proposition.

6. Total nonsense
I you look at the world situation, bin Laden has not hit the US for the simple reason he is throwing all of his resources into overthrowing the Saudis. Once he has Arabia he can cut the Supply of oil to the US. With US troops tied up in Iraq, there would be very little the US can do.

7. Yeah that'd be smooth
Terrorists set off a dirty bomb in Houston. The U.S. nukes Mecca.

Result besides the deaths directly from those bombs?

The entire world, ENTIRE WORLD, would turn on the U.S. Nato would either dissolve or kick the U.S. out. The rest of the Arab and Muslim world, who now the majority of wouldn't do harm against us, will rise up. You think they've risen up? Uh uh. Only a few extremists. If we were to do this the United States would be guilty of the greatest crime against humanity since the Nazi's. Not only would the world not put up with it, there would be serious talk about war against the U.S. as a rogue nation.

All the members of our lovely coalition would leave. The European Union would finally form their own army, in order to counter ours. Our troops would be kicked out of their bases overseas.

We're talking pretty much the worst thing the U.S. could do. There is no way this would happen. Threaten? Maybe. I can see some of these morans threatenting that. Doing it? Well it'd be the end of the world as we know it. I can't believe they're that dumb.

8. "oasis for rational conservatives"
is an oxyMORON, pun intended.

Not that I don't think * is stupid enough to make the threat.

9. Too idiotic for words
If bin Laden actually believed we'd do such a thing, he'd be racing to attack us as fast as possible. Because if we were so monstrous at to actually do that, we'd be handing him literally billions of allies, and cutting ourselves off totally from the world.

14. I doubt it. All along we have been led to believe that al Qeda
spends years planning major attacks but now the US wonders why it hasn't happened again. It makes no sense. 9-11 was around 7 years in the planning, wasn't it? Who knows what's going on here right now? It's not why it hasn't happened, it is when. And if the murderous Bush hasn't wasted so much in Iraq, the US would be better prepared to thwart any attack.
