Teaser headline on Fox front page: "Bush's First Blunder"...FIRST?
It's comfoting to know that Fox shares Bush's opinion of himself, namely, that in four years he's made NO MISTAKES.

The teaser is only on the Fox front page. The actual article title and URL appear below.

The Case Against Federal Tort Reform

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,141669,00.html

Democrats in Congress claim they’re willing to work constructively with President Bush on a second-term agenda, if only he’ll moderate his views on issues like tort reform (search).

Regrettably, the president has decided to feature restrictions on medical malpractice and other lawsuits in his opening legislative package. Bad idea. Lost opportunity.

The president is missing a chance to placate his congressional opponents or, if they won’t work with him, to unmask their offer of cooperation as political posturing. In a nutshell, Bush should abandon his pitch for substantive tort reform —not because he’s wrong to insist that the civil justice system needs an overhaul, but rather because he’s right to argue that federalism (search) matters.

The national government is not empowered to dictate substantive rules of state tort law. And Republicans who are supposedly devoted to fighting federal bloat, should be on the front line in stopping the central government from worming its way into an area that has been left to the states for two-and-a-quarter centuries.

7. CONservatives are getting uneasy
They're waking from their slumber. Good. Finally. Hooray!

The only good thing about conservativism is when it conserves good things. The total erosion of state rights into a murky pool of federal control is not a good thing. The taking of an individual's rights to legal recourse for perceived wrongs is a bad thing. The cons know it.

Let us greet these CONS with a hearty "Good Morning" as we meet them on the street.

Good Morning Fox! Glad to see you finally awaken. Now, go to work.
