U.S. soldiers in the Iraqi war who have had limbs blown off are fitted with prostheses and sent right back to the battlefield.

Unbelievable.

1. Crazy. But what she didn't say is that the fellow that did that begged to
go back.

3. you can admire the guy, but how dare the army do that!
it's absolutely disgusting that the army would permit that, no matter how much the soldier wanted it.

someone who just lost a limb and now has to get used to a prosthesis needs a LONG time to heal, emotionally and physically from the injury itself; and, emotional and physical therapy, first to live a normal life with a prosthesis and then, after that, if so inclined, further training to be able to perform at an acceptable level for the armed forces.

to send someone like that back into battle before they're properly used to the prosthesis is unconscionable.

send the poor kid home.

unless the army secretly hopes he dies on the battlefield. as horrible as THAT thought is, i can't think of a better one for not sending the kid home.

2. More miles to the soldier.... I have heard many of them saying that they
want to get right back... amazing spirit if you ask me.

5. The way Randi was speaking did not make it
sound as if the soldiers wanted to go back. In fact, she was talking about how many of them are being kept beyond their release date (and that a group of them are suing the government for this).

It's such a mess and it's so sad...

4. Only if they want to... I think.
It's an incredibly psychologically difficult place to be, I'd think.

All your buddies are there, fighting for their lives.

They dragged your blown apart body out of harm's way, probably.

I'd want to go back too.

6. A perfect example of why she is untrustworthy

She is marketing a product, like sausage; she'll throw anything in, no matter where it came from.
