Anyone out there who wonders what Clark's perspective on Iraq was prior to the invasion, or thinks he is a Republican, please do as the RNC suggests and read
the transcript of Clarks testimony to the Armed Services Committee, 9/26/02. But read it yourself, don't rely on the spinsters to take pieces out of it for you.
The transcript shows what Clark would have done, were he our President. It shows how COMPLETE and ACCURATE Clark's understanding was of the situation in Iraq, including the dangers of not being prepared for the aftermath and the need to keep the focus on al Qaeda. It shows that he did not believe that Iraq was an imminent threat, and it shows Perle and the other neocons trying to get him to say it was. The interplay between him and Perle and some of the committee members makes it quite clear that Clark is neither a neoconservative, nor a warmonger/hawk.
Please, take the RNC's word for it: the right place to go to understand Clark's position on the war is this transcript. Or if you want more, read his book, "Winning Modern Wars"; it gives you the same picture, even though it came out a year later, when he was deciding to run for President.
With "damaging stuff" like this out there, can there be any wonder why McGovern and Michael Moore are endorsing him? Please, RNC, bring it on! Help bring all of Clark's past statements to light!
