The bastards just mortgaged our children's future
- President Bush on Friday signed into law a measure authorizing an $800 billion increase in the credit limit of the United States, the White House said. "The president signed the debt ceiling increase into law before he left for Chile," White House spokesman Trent Duffy said. Bush left earlier on Friday for Santiago, Chile, where he will attend this weekend's Asia-Pacific summit. The Republican-dominated Congress gave its approval on Thursday to a measure to increase the debt

5. So I'm a little naive
but I thought creditors, not debtors, were the ones who can increase our credit line. At least that's the way it is in my world.

7. Well we can increase our debt limit...
...but that doesn't mean our creditors will buy our debt.

Heard some talk earlier this week that some foreign investors normally present at Treasury Auctions (which is where government 'debt' is sold) were absent, and the US investment houses were the only ones buying it.

6. Each and every one of our kids will be paying
big time, and it ahs been going on for four years. Per capita, his Iraq misadventure is costing over $ 1,000.00. The rest of the tax cuts will take at least a generation to pay for, unless the *istas just tell all of the other countries who hold our debt to get lost and cancel the debt. It wouldn't surprise me at all if they did that, in an attempot to demolish their economies, too.

Who comes up with these ideas, anyway?

9. Ad campaign: Instead of issuing birth certificates,
babies are issued credit card statements at birth.

I have a 7 year old, and I am absolutely disgusted by the deficit and now, the increase in the birth tax.

Shameful, and it's a big fat cheat as well.

10. Birth Tax
Some Dems have taken a cue (FINALLY!!) from the other side (they're so damn good at catchy names like "death tax") and are calling it the BIRTH TAX -- as soon as you're born, you owe big bucks.

I like that name.

11. Ever been to right wing sites?
The blame it all on the "welfare state". And they mean the fictional "welfare for the poor and middle class" programs. They are nasty about it too. Poor and middle class people here these lies and they feel guilty , then dont vote or vote GOP.

I think we should REQUIRE every nominee in 2008 and beyond to read the book Take The Rich Off Welfare.

It shows what the welfare state is all about.

Anyway we are loosing the propaganda war badly. We need to nominate real world progressive minded individuals from now on.People feel like loosers if they even think about voting for Democrats in the real world.
