So my local hemp/hippie store had a William Rivers Pitt column posted
walked in, and on the front door, next to the 'bush lied', Bob marley stickers, and sweet leaf pics, there's a truthout column about the first debate. thought it was pretty cool.

8. Stoned hippies pretty much forced the Vietnam War to stop
...or at least, U.S. involvement in it. Why do people equate being stoned with being stupid, or with some idea that they should not be taken seriously? Especially those who have, themselves, a FULL medicine cabinet of prescription drugs, which they combine without thought.

Plenty of people seem to take that coke-sniffer-in-office seriously as well, and by any measure it's fairly obvious that he's not thinking clearly... so what's the problem with pot?
