Lakoff has written about the need for a leftwing progressive media machine to set up a frame for the next campaign. The candidates must be able to step into the frame, and not have to build it themselves.

A couple of DUers were talking about how to do this on some other threas earlier, I think yesterday. THey asked for volunteers to help with their ideas. So I went ahead and started a livejournal blog on how to persuade rural swing state voters to vote for a progressive candidate. Here is the blog I just started:

It will come down to the Red Staters realizing they have been used, duped, misguided, lied to and scammed. Education may be one way.

4. Skip the Red states, go right for rural swing staters

All we need is to convince 1 million or so rural swing state voters that the GOP is wrong and the progressive agenda is right and that economic populism is right, and we are on the path to nominating and then electing a REAL liberal for President.

Target the rural swing state voters by buying space in their small town newspapers and small town radio stations. Take 3 years to convince them. Almost all the money raised could go to volunteer-created ads and infomercials.

Just do it. Stop yapping here about Cheney's penis and Dubya's smirk, and unite to start a movement to collect money and create content and buy time to persuade one million rural swing staters that the progressive/social democracy agenda is the right one. We can do it.
