you guy's need to listen to me. bush is going to be president, but
he isn't going to be able to do what he wants because iraq is going to kick his ass. the dems in the senate need to get their shit together and pick their fights. we need a 06 strategy, we need to get a list of folks that can be picked off, and get some candidates that can do that.

that's why dean needs to run the DNC. if we play our cards right we can minimize the damage done by these idiots that have sold us down the river.

6. We've already lost this occupation/war
We're just too stupid to realize it.
too bad Iraq is sitting on top of so much oil - otherwise we would never bothered to invade in the first place.

I am just grateful I don't own an SUV and none of my friends are draft age.

We never seem to learn. This is another Vietnam

Let Saigons be bygones !

4. I think your right....
As much as I hate to say this, I really believe that we are going to lose this conflict.

I said this the other night, an insurgency is like mercury, you stick your finger in it and it pops out everywhere.

The Iraqi Security Forces are being infiltrated from top to bottom, even Powell has admitted this.

By supporting Kurds and Shias to fight in Sunni areas and vice versa we're starting an internal civil war.

We're going to lose the war. I never thought I'd say that especially after veterans day, but I believe we're going to lose the war.

I could be wrong, and God I hope so. This will be a disaster for our country for decades.

8. no shit, that's what's truly messed up. we can't pull out, and if we
are the only one's there, it will only make things worse. now I reading the article on bin laden getting approval to use wmd's because he's warned us.

I just believe that bush is not going to get to leave the white house like clinton.

10. 2006 is First Opportunity
Iraq is a loser, and will only get worse. War always costs money, and people will wise up when the war drags on, and the economy tanks. Remember the Republican losses in the late 1990's? we can do that again, with good leadership and organization.

11. we're liberals. we can multitask.
we can do all that you mentioned PLUS recount/review every state's votes that need to be reviewed, put the voting machines under a microscope and inspect them for "secret codes", make sure all the provisional/absentee/military votes are counted, and make sure that turd that has squatted in al gore's whitehouse for almost four years does not continue to squat in john kerry's whitehouse for another four.

AND shop for our xmas presents.

all at the same time.

so there.

:-)

12. actually I think the recount is a good idea. it lets the repugs know
we're in a fighting mood. if something was to turn up, I really don't think the government would inform the people. reporting actual vote fraud would basically set this country back 200 years. dems would compromise and allow bush sit but with some concessions.

13. we're NOT liberals, we're PROGRESSIVES
I, for one, will no longer call myself a liberal - I am a progressive. The word "liberal" no longer carries any meaning other than "not conservative" so it's time we progressives decided to do something about it. It's time to take back OUR ideas, OUR values, and OUR words.

Let's start with something like this:

We are Americans.

We are teachers, lawyers, bankers, and doctors.
We work in factories, warehouses, farmhouses and office buildings.
We attend sporting events, company picnics, church functions, and reunions.
...and we believe we are a united country.

We stand up and sing along when we hear the National Anthem and speak loudly when we recite the Pledge of Allegiance.
We know love and life-long commitment are the foundations of a family.
We honor those who dedicate their lives to serving and protecting our children, our families, and our freedom.
We honor those who gave their lives for freedom by respecting the freedom of our neighbors to live the lives they lead.
We know that God gives us the strength to succeed and the wisdom to know the difference between right and wrong.
We ask our teachers and parents to work together in order to help our children succeed.
We demand a maximum return for our tax investments and believe they should be used for the greater good.

We believe in the American birth-right of life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness.
We believe in empowering and giving voices to all Americans.
We believe in is both a right and responsibility to speak out where we feel there is injustice.
We believe in the sanctity of nature and that the beauty of America must be preserved.
We believe in cultivating a culture of service where we develop stronger communities built on empathy.
We believe in working hard and embracing progress in order to ensure better opportunities for our children.
We believe in our cultural inheritance set forth by our founding fathers to never be satisfied with the status quo.
We believe in being a beacon of hope and integrity for the rest of the world.

We are hard-workers, free-thinkers and freedom-lovers.
We are Americans.

Take it, pass it, spread it around - the war of words has begun!

14. the problem with the word "liberal" . . .
is that it is now equated with "permissive" . . . and all that it connotes . . . the right has been working for about thirty years to establish this in the minds of the public, and they've succeeded . . . "progressive" is a far better way to describe ourselves, with the added benefit that it enables us to contrast ourselves to the "regressives" on the other side . . . the liberal/conservative dichotomy is something that was created by them for their own purposes . . . we need something created by us for our purposes, and the progressive/regressive dichotomy may be just the way to go . . .
