The election is over
Edited on Tue Nov-09-04 09:59 AM by dennis4868
As much as I hate to admit it, Bush is going to be the president for the next 4 years. Yes, he may have stolen the election again. There is even evidence to suggest that fact. But the fact of the matter is, in order for the voter fraud to get legs WE NEED THE MAINSTREEM MEDIA and a Congress with a backbone! Other than Keith Olberman, we have no one else in the media giving this much attention at all. Even Congressman Conyers says that he is not looking to overturn the election, but simply wants to make sure elections in the future are fair and without computer fraud.

Why would anyone here all of a sudden believe the mainstreem media will turn their back on Bush and demand an audit of this past election? The fucking media is not holding Bush accountable for all his high crimes and misdemeanors that he has committed the past 4 years for crying out loud! They are not going to all of a sudden wake up and hold Bush accountable. And does anyone really think the spineless dems in congress are all of a sudden going to get a backbone and fight for our democracy? NO WAY!

So as much as I HATE Bush, we are stuck with this criminal for 4 more years. And even though there probably was some fraud involved in the last election it does not make a difference. One day it will matter....when we have a true independent media, a congress that gives a damn about our democracy, and a President who looks out for the people of this country. With the media, congress and the president we have today there is NO CHANCE.

So I guess my point is....dont get your hopes up too much about the voter fraud stories out there and lets begin to fight for our democracy and constitution....whatever that means.

1. setting aside the election is a long shot, I agree, BUT
proving Bush didn't legitimately win will marginalize his presidency, if not here at home, abroad, and it will fire up the dems to do something to prevent it from happening again.

That's why it is imperative to prove it was stolen. If we can.

Was your vote counted? How do you know? Does it matter? What are you willing to do to make certain that your vote is/was counted?

If you don't stand up for other's votes then one day there may be no one left who will stand up for your own.

3. I'm not so sure he will last four years.
The Bush and the Republican's worst enemy may be themselves. The situation in Iraq looks bleak, another terrorist attack is likely and the economy is only creating jobs overseas.

Just sit back and watch as the house of Bush comes down. I'm an independent, and I can honestly say I don't know how it's not going to happen. Bush winning re-election may be exactly what he and the enablers who voted for him deserve.
