5. YES - dashles is lame duck
Edited on Wed Nov-03-04 02:46 PM by debatepro
54 million votes is a bully pulpit. I agree. Plus he is in a safe state so he doesn't have to hedge his comments like daschels.

Daschle isn't a lame duck. He lost... Which sucks even though he was weak, because his opponent is a nut.

and he won't get f*cked like Daschle did.
I'm sort of glad Daschle lost. He was a spineless leader, and it's time for someone new.

32. Stop blaming this on Kerry
Blame it on the ignorance and stupidity of American voters. Kerry would be a great leader. I think he would definitely fight Bush hard at every single corner.

50. Exactly, blame it on southern voters anyway.
Not you Democracts looking for some nice weather, but those that are native Republicans of the south. I am from Minnesota and was in the U.S. Navy stationed in Charleston S.C., when I was discharged I could have moved anywhere. I moved back to Minnesota where I could have a normal conversation with someone. I couldn't bring myself to live down south with a bunch of backwards thinking slow-minded idiots. No offense to my friends or relatives that live in the south, but WAKE up.

P.S. Just heard about a new bumper sticker "Don't blame me I voted for Kerry", that is going to be my motto for the next 4 years.

P.S.S. Just Venting. Only 4 more years till We Take Back What's Left Of Our Country.

46. Thanks zidzi
I was starting to feel sort of alone in here.

I won't lie, this hurts like hell. I was so psyched. I really thought we could win. I didn't realize the evangelicals were that pumped.

We did everything we could in Wisconsin. I'm proud that we went Blue for him. We froze our asses off and walked all over kingdom come. I worked 10 hours for him yesterday, on the phones and on the street.

We put together a great GOTV campaign. The staff were blown away by the number of volunteers that came out, esp after the first debate. The volunteers just came out of the walls. Our Dem Governor and Mayor were quite impressed. They said it was like nothing they had seen.

I don't want to lose that. We need to keep the machine rolling. We must keep fighting the power.

Don't worry about Kerry; he's just gone into stealth mode, is all. He'll be back.

One who actually opposes the war in Iraq and voted against it.

Boxer, Murray, Leahy, etc.

To hell with the pollwatchers and panderers. And, that includes Kerry and Lieberman and the rest of 'em.

23. Keep Kerry/Edwards -- They're the dream team
We Democrats cast off our leaders too quickly. H.W. lost the presidency -- only got one term, but Republicans didn't reject him that strongly. We Democrats need to take the responsibility for this loss, not blame it on Kerry. We also need to show ourselves as a party that can stick to something. Kerry did not make any huge mistakes. He was a good candidate. He is a courageous, intelligent man. That's why we backed him in the first place.

I wish Kerry had not conceded so quickly, but I also wish I could tell him what a great candidate he was. He really deserved to win. --- Same for Edwards. Keep in mind, no one knew much about Kerry ten months ago, yet he managed to get within a few thousand votes of the presidency. He did a great job.

If you have to blame someone or something, blame the fascist wave that is taking over the country disguised as evangelicalism. Out here in California, evangelical churches exist, but they don't dominate, and Kerry won big time here.

We Democrats should stick with Kerry and Dean as spokesmen, but make Howard Dean the party chairman. Howard Dean has shown that he can raise money and, as an ex-governor, has lots of experience managing organizations. That's why I think he should be party chair.

28. Spunds like a PLAN
He beat the weecowboy THREE TIMES IN DEBATE, he can nail him to the cross on the Senate floor, and he knows how to ENFORCE PARTY DISCIPLINE.

Stolen votes and a lack of youth turn out cost us this election, but we can work towards regaining Congress in 06. JK has NAME RECOGNITION, he has FACE RECOGNITION, he has a NATIONAL VOICE. The media WILL cover him. He is our best hope to continue the fight and regain the high moral ground. He is the guy who can stand up as this war continues to go horribly wrong, as the "personnel transfer tubes" pile up at Dover AFB, and say, with real authority, I FUCKING TOLD YOU SO.

I think he is a NATURAL for the job. And for those who say FUCK the Democrats, or FUCK JK, it has been 'interesting' to know you. I hope you'll be happy with your new affiliations, that they meet your expectations.

I don't give up that easily. You cannot appreciate fair weather without enduring a few storms.

I mean, some one from a blue state, not a red or "purple" state. Those Senators will always feel like they have to wuss down their message to not lose their own state.

Hell no! We need a liberal. I am fine with Kerry because despite his voting YES on IWR he has the name and face recognition, the popularity and is used to going after George W. Bush.

His being from a solidly liberal state would make him stronger than a lot of other choices. I don't agree with the sentiment that Kerry lost the election. Red state voters and BBV shenanigans lost Kerry the vote. I love the idea that Kerry could be in their faces for the next few years!

Kerry has a role to play, but we don't need to give Bush the chance to say, "Didn't I just kick your ass?" everytime there is an issue at stake. Minority leader is for an adminsitrative type.
