It's our technique.
We lose because Republicans fight dirty. We have to stop trying to stay "above it" and fight back. A pre-emptive strike now and then wouldn't hurt either.
Obviously, what we say about our opposition doesn't have to be true. It just has to be lurid and ugly and sticky.
