WORST. FUCKING. CONCESSION. SPEACH. EVER!!!
Edited on Wed Nov-03-04 02:09 PM by smirkymonkey
Pardon my shouting, but I am so fucking angry at Kerry right now I could spit nails.

What a goddam betrayal! How dare he even insinuate that the election was fair!

He could at least give us some hope instead of trying to pacify us with platitudes.

He said "I believe there are no losers in this election" - How dare he minimize what this race meant to so many of us who have worked and deveoted ourselves to his reelection.

Particularly when there are so many allegations of voter fraud, and particularly after the debacle of 2000.

I didn't buy into this, and invest all the time and sweat and I did so I could win a fucking Care Bear who wants to get along with a dog ready to tear it to shreds.

4. Edwards's was much better - he was mad
Kerry's IS very disappointing. Kerry's really naive. He really expects Bush to be at his word when he says he'll unite? HA! We've been through that before. They started this division by calling us unpatriotic, for the terrorists, traitors, etc. - when we were just looking after the country's interests. You think you can unite with people like Bush, people on Free Republic, people on Celiberal, etc.? No way.

was in solidarity with the rest of us. Kerry's aloof resignation was a slap in the face to those of us who believed in him.

He extended the olive branch to the enemy a bit too soon and too readily. THAT is what people are angry about, not that he lost the election.

It's over and that's it. All of us feel like we've been kicked in the stomach, and 4 more years of a criminal reich - the unthinkable - is about to descend upon us.

I won't pick apart his speech, because he was an establishment candidate staying true to the establishment and I didn't expect him to call us to arms or encourage a bloodbath in our streets. The call to unity was a little disgusting, though, since we know the Bush concept of 'unity' is to submit to their zany little right-wing cult or be branded traitors...again.

Discouraged, disgusted, and out of hope.

40. Republicans were laughing at Kerry's speech
(overheard in the hallways during his speech in one of the House office buildings).

WE need to reach out? We can reach out till our arms fall off. They are in charge--it is theirresponsibility to reach out to the minority party and they won't.

Again, not bashing Kerry, but bashing his suck-up speech and his people who think it is a "good idea" to kiss up to the Administration that treats this country with contempt. It gets us nowhere to pretend that it is possible or even advisable to try to work with these neocons. Look how Ted Kennedy got burned by reaching out on No Child Left Behind.

one time it was mentioned here. As much as I think Kerry is a good man I think the DLC got rid of Al Gore and put Kerry in there so we would lose and the country would be flushed down the toilet so she could win in 2008. What does everyone think?
