3. and what pray tell
is the current situation?

By all means, DK all the way!
Unless it is someone who rises to DK's standards, I'll most likely be voting third party.

14. I'm all for it
But he'd lose worse than Kerry.

America is a right wing country.

The culture war is too strong. I don't know how you fight against that. ***The culture war just got a war criminal elected, with a majority of the popular vote.*** There may have been some unseen electronic voting problems, but the fact the so many would vote for Bush, to even make it close, is too much.

It's a scary country.

16. Want to be a "true progressive"? Stop thinking about 2008!
Instead, start organizing for the long haul. Support local progressive candidates. Run for office yourself. Start the process of pulling the political center back toward the left.

We are where we are not because of some upstart Republican campaign. The Republicans have been laying this groundwork for 40 years. Now they're reaping the benefits.

If we want things to truly change, we need to commit ourselves to this from the other side. Focusing on Presidential elections won't do that. Instead, focus on local and state races -- where the future leaders of the progressive movement will be vetted.

21. Evan Bayh
Kucinich would result in a 50 state sweep.

We'll probably be facing George Allen in 2008. Our only hope to beat him is Evan Bayh.
