In the last four years the country I wore a uniform for and was willing to die for, has changed into something almost unrecognizable. By voting for this man in the White House, those people have given him carte blanche to continue to wage war based on lies, on his terms and no one else’s. They’ve also given him the right to use the Patriot Act to stomp on the rights of its citizens. They’ve given him permission to continue to close the door on millions of people with debilitating illnesses whose only hope was the possibilities of stem cell research. They’ve given him the right to silence the rest of us who oppose war and the stifling policies which have alienated us from the rest of the world.
