God bless John Kerry
I am so proud of him for fighting so hard. For winning every debate. For giving it everything he had, right up to the end.

Simple math: There were not enough provisional ballots in Ohio to give him any chance of winning.

He did the classy thing and the right thing to concede.

Now, let's not give up. And to heck with supporting Bush. I'll support him when he begins to do things that support the wellbeing of most of the people in this country. And that is something he will never do.

We've lost this one but we will never give up.

4. Agreed
During the weeks leading up to the election, I kept thinking, "Is Kerry perhaps too good for the U.S.?"

I think we now have our answer: Yes.

20. Kerry isn't too good for the U.S.
U.S. voters aren't good enough for Kerry. But, Kerry should not concede until every last vote is counted. This conceding based on statistically likely outcomes disenfranchises those voters whose votes are never counted. This is precisely the kind of thing that discourages people from voting. It makes them think it isn't worth the bother since their candidate never wins and their vote isn't even counted.

I am a strong Kerry supporter, but it is Kerry's lack of tenacity in the face of the inevitable that made people who don't understand policy, people who vote for the man, vote for Bush, not Kerry. People trusted Bush because he gives the impression that he doesn't give up when the chips are down. Unfortunately, by conceding the election at this point, Kerry is demonstrating that he does give up. He is making a big mistake. It wouldn't hurt to delay the final decision on the election ten days to make sure all the votes are counted.

6. I don't blame Kerry
We have to face the facts. We're down too much in Ohio to make it up.

10. Good points - also the concession is just a formality. It doesn't mean
the vote counting stops. By law it has to. Concessions by candidates have no legal significance. The count goes on and in the unlikely event that Kerry comes out on top in Ohio, he unconcedes and claims the presidency.

11. Absolutely agree
I am very proud. We took a president with an 80%+ (at one time) approval rating and gave him the fight of his career. I've never fought as hard for a candidate as I have for John Kerry. I have so many good memories of this campaign, the rally that I went to- it just didn't work out this time. We'll live to fight another day. Thank you, John Kerry and John Edwards.

12. Praise Kerry, raise John Kerry!

How can we dare on DU to blame John Kerry.

Do we blame ourselves for not doing more?
We should not blame ourselves!
Everyone on DU gave every ounce of our blood for this election.

So did the entire Kerry team.

I am just not ready for the blame game today!

These type of posts are just not appropriate IMO.
Maybe tomorrow, but not today.

These kinds of posts are "Freeper Heaven."

I will not say that I don't support John Kerry.
That is mean!

him. Fuck anyone who says I should. Thank you President Kerry. We have another false presidency on our hands.

We were outgunned because of media bias. We need to fix that in the coming years.

He was an excellent candidate and fought to the end. His debate performance was exceptional, and he made a wise choice for VP. Thanks, John Kerry!

I am devastated that such a great man will not be in the White House for at least the next four years. Instead, we're stuck with the biggest piece of vile trash ever to infest the place. Impeachment can not come soon enough.
