CNN put OH in perspective...
The gap now is under 120,000
The DNC feels by the time all votes are counted, * will be ahead by 50,000
There are over 200,000 provisional ballots
In 2000, 90% of all provisionals cast were VALID.
That means most likely 180,000 more ballots will left to be counted.
Most of these provisionals are from democratic precincts targeted by RNC operative challengers.

The DNC believes the difference can be made up.

Funny how it's all coming down to the voters that Rove challenged in OH.

22. IF this happens
(and my agnostic ass is about ready to pray that it does) that puts Kerry ahead by 279-259 (assuming MI, MN, WI, go blue and Kerry maintains his lead in NH)...while LOSING the popular vote. Which would make him the second President in as many elections to gain office with a minority of the popular vote, and should send a clear signal that the inequitable and antiquated electoral college system is irrevocably broken and MUST be replaced.

I still have hope.

23. I've been figuring it kinda the same way myself...
... and I believe that there is now broad agreement (not official yet, I don't think) that NH has indeed gone blue.

Our rather exotic electoral system is the pits, seriously, because it increasingly fails to return results that accurately portray the sentiments of the electorate as a whole. The process is building up a pretty big legitimacy deficit.
