Who thinks we'll take back the Senate?
I'd really love to see that, but now I'm not so sure it will happen. I hear we've taken some hits in the Carolinas. I thought Tennenbaum was ahead, but now I guess she's not? Now people are worried about Castor in Florida, which I kind of assumed was a lock. Is Bunning's imminent mental collapse going to win us the race in KY?

Obama's a lock. So is Salazar, and I haven't heard anything about AK that suggests that Knowles will lose. So there's 3 pickups. What about Daschle and Reid? It's gonna be disappointing if we don't win back the Senate, but I'm trying to keep my hopes up. Anyone got some good news?

1. Reid is a lock
Daschle is still iffy

Castor depends on the Kerry turn-out

if he carries Florida, she'll win

we're going to lose South Carolina, Georgia, Louisiana, and possibly North Carolina

2. Georgia isn't a loss.
It's a gain in the sense that we won't have Zell bad mouthing us with his supposed "credibility" anymore. I'm not even counting that. From what I hear about Louisiana that should be interesting, but people here are confident we'll win in a runnoff, like Landrieu did.

4. Me!! Me!!
We pick up
Illinois
Colorado
Alaska
Oklahoma
Kentucky

We lose
Georgia
South Carolina

We keep:
Florida
South Dakota
North Carolina

Net gain of three seats

Kerry's seat goes to Barney Frank in a special election
and LA goes to a run-off.

5. I think we'll take it. 50 to 49, plus Jeffords.
And after the election, we MIGHT just get someone like Chaffee to come to our side...
