Bwahahahaha....AWOL's New Campaign Song
Bwahahahaha saw the opening of Dubya's Nazi rally, I mean campaign rally today in Ohio and at least one other one from today. At both, the new campaign song seemed to be "The Final Countdown" by 80's hair band Europe. Europe!!!!???? Does this mean Bush is French?

GDoyle

P.S.-Full disclosure, Europe was actually from Sweden. What's the matter Dubya, can't you support Americans? Even your campaign song has been outsourced to other countries!!!! (could Kerry use this line?)

2. Is that song about the end of the world?
I always assumed it was about a nuclear war. Maybe I didn't really listen to the words, cause, um, they pretty much suck.

5. What the hell are the Bushistas ?? Heaven's gate cult redux?
We're leaving together
But still it's farewell
And maybe we'll come back
To earth, who can tell
I guess there is no one to blame
We're leaving ground (leaving ground)
Will things ever be the same again

It's the final countdown
the final countdown

We're heading for Venus and still we stand tall
'cause maybe they've seen us and welcome us all
With so many light years to go and things to be found (to be found)
I'm sure that we'll all miss her so.

It's the final countdown
the final countdown
the final countdown...

9. No, seriously, BUSH IS FRENCH!
I just found out today when our libertarian candidate for governor gave his resume on the news tonight. He said he is a descendant of French ancestors that settled in West Virginia in the 1600's (yeah, i know, i was thinking "who cares?" too) Anyway, he then said that W is from the same ancestor. Me & hubby laughed hysterically! George Bush IS French!! :) :) :)

Bush Asked to Stop Using 'Still the One'

http://entertainment.tv.yahoo.com/entnews/ap/20041029/109909830000.html

Fri Oct 29, 6:05 PM ET

The Bush campaign said Friday it would stop using the 1970's hit "Still the One" at campaign rallies after the songwriter, no fan of the president, claimed the Republicans never got permission.

John Hall, a former Democratic county legislator in upstate New York, co-wrote the song and recorded it with his band Orleans in 1976. He complained Friday morning about the campaign's use of the song at the president's events.

The cheery pop tune opened and ended a Bush campaign rally in New Hampshire Friday, then was to have vanished from the political playlist.

"Out of deference to Mr. Hall's views, the song will no longer be played," Bush campaign spokeswoman Nicolle Devenish said. She said the song had been included in a catalog of music that the campaign's licensing company used to provide music for events.

Hours after she spoke, however, the song popped up again on the sound system in Columbus, Ohio, as Bush rally organizers tried to warm up a crowd of thousands. A campaign spokesman said the song was piped inadvertently into the arena as part of a video montage.
