Kerry still polls well on National Security even if it's below Bush*
I think what the Pundits seem to miss is that even if Bush does poll a little better than Kerry on Terrorism it's not that much better. I noticed in one poll that Kerry trailed Bush by over 10 points on this issue but what the press failed to look at was that Kerry rated very well on National Security. Let me put it this in numbers as I know this is hard to grasp. I will rate Bush and Kerry on a scale from 1 to 10 on different issues then rate them head to head.
These are made up numbers but the ones on Terrorism are similar to what I saw in that Poll.
How would you rate your candidate on these issues:
Economy: Kerry 7 Bush 4 Health Care: Kerry 7 Bush 4 Environment: Kerry 7 Bush 4 Terrorism: Kerry 6 Bush 7
Who would be better on these issues:
Economy: Kerry 54% Bush 46% Health Care: Kerry 56% Bush 44% Environment: Kerry 55% Bush 45% Terrorism: Kerry 45% Bush 55%
You see, even though people rate Kerry Good on how he will handle Terrorism when you put him side by side with Bush it looks like Kerry's numbers stink. Numbers say a lot of things and you have to be careful in how you interpret them. Thats why I don't think this Usama thing is helping Bush. People have confidence in Kerry and Bush on this issue but they are now questioning why Bush has not taken out Usama.
