How are our chances of getting the Senate back?
Any views on this? What are you hearing in your state? Here in Florida, Betty Castor is up 3 points on Mel Martinez.

1. My gut is that we will hold ground
but not make much.

On the other hand if you look at the latimes senate tracking polls, it appears there is a high number of undecideds. Perhaps Kerry can coat tail some of those over to our side.

win back the Senate.

If Kerry wins and the Repugs keep the Senate and the House they will go on a slash and burn, scorched earth attack on Kerry and the Dems. It will be very very ugly.

THink what they did to Clinton was bad? You ain't seen nothing yet.

5. Not good
Too many of the open seats are in the red states. If things break perfect, we may reclaim the majority. Most likely the repubs will maintain the senate and may actually increase their majority by a seat or two. This will result in gridlock for the next two years.

6. bad cycle to do it
In two years we'll have a better shot at regaining the Senate. Then in 2012 we can maybe take back the house.
